Whom We Are Looking For

We are seeking an experienced Product Owner to participate in delivering large-scale complex systems for the Air Traffic Management (ATM) domain. The successful candidate will serve as the ‘voice of the customer’ for the team where the incumbent will build and manage key relationships, synthesize information from sources, maintain business alignment in the team’s backlog and communicate effectively with various stakeholders to ensure delivery with operational safety and regulatory obligations.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for backlog breakdown and ensuring the consistencies of the agile artefacts (e.g., stories, tasks) and its coverage.
  • Acts as the main point of contact for the team on functional or technical topics, to drive alignment.
  • Acts as the bridge between the agile teams, coordinating with the RTEs
  • Collaborate with Architects, RTEs to define Program Increments and participate in the PI Planning.
  • Managing and Prioritizing the Team Backlog
    • Support the team in story creation, breakdown of the backlog items (e.g., initiatives to epics to stories) with clearly articulated acceptance criteria, non-functional requirements and quality attributes (e.g., security, performance).
    • Prioritize backlog items, create clarity for the team (e.g., collaborating with other stakeholders)
    • Work with the users and customer to ensure that the backlog items deliver value, manage the evolution of the product via traceability matrices
  • Supporting the Team in Delivering Value
    • Foster built-in quality
    • Participating in team events and agile events (e.g., PI planning, ART events)
    • Participate to demos and gathering feedback from the users

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Systems Engineering, or related field.
  • At least 5 years’ experience as a Product Owner, or equivalent role in mission-critical or safety-critical systems.
  • Strong facilitation, coaching, and conflict resolution skills.

Essential / Desirable Traits

  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM, PSM) and/or SAFe Scrum Master (SSM); SAFe RTE a plus.
  • Knowledge of ED-109/DO-278A and safety-critical software standards desirable.
  • Possess learning agility, flexibility and pro-activity
  • Comfortable with agile teamwork and user engagement
  • Strong leadership and change management skills
  • Metrics-driven improvement mindset.
  • Systems and technical literacy.
  • Align agile delivery with the following aviation standards (ED-109/DO-278a).
