Product Owner - Platform Services
About Us:
At Fullbay, our mission is simple — to create safer roads for our families and yours. As leaders in the heavy-duty repair industry, we power shops with technology that helps them run smarter and more efficiently. As an AI-First company, we invite artificial intelligence to eliminate friction, spark innovation, and drive efficiencies in every conversation— for our teams and our customers. Fullbay is the number one cloud-based shop management software for commercial repair shops and is growing fast. This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-performing team and help shape the next phase of growth for the company.
Position Overview:

As a Product Owner – Platform Services at Fullbay, you own and contribute to the success of the core platform capabilities that enable the rest of the product to operate, scale, and evolve. You lead the definition, delivery, and ongoing improvement of shared data models, services, and foundational “rails” that are consumed by other product and technology teams across the organization.

In this role, you operate as the primary Product Owner for Platform Services, accountable for delivery quality and supporting the platform’s ongoing evolution. While much of your work supports internal teams, your decisions directly influence customer-facing experiences by shaping the consistency, reliability, and flexibility of the product as a whole. You balance near-term enablement with long-range thinking, ensuring platform capabilities unblock teams today while setting Fullbay up for future success.
You lead a dedicated team of engineers and QA, working closely with other Product Owners, Product Managers, designers, and engineering leadership. You are expected to show strong ownership and decision-making within a collaborative product environment—often partnering early with other teams to help define and sequence platform capabilities before downstream work begins. Success in this role requires strong judgment, comfort with ambiguity, and the ability to drive complex decisions to clear, actionable conclusions.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Platform Domain Ownership: Define and evolve platform capabilities such as core records, configuration and settings, and shared design or interaction patterns. Maintain these requirements and designs in a robust product roadmap. Ensure platform services are reliable, extensible, and designed to support both current and future product needs.
  • Platform Direction & Prioritization: Define and prioritize platform initiatives that align with broader product strategy while addressing the most critical enablement needs across teams. Assess tradeoffs and make informed prioritization decisions that balance near-term delivery needs with longer-term platform considerations. Your efforts increase the velocity and quality (“veracity”) of platform decisions, ensuring progress without sacrificing long-term integrity.
  • Enabling & Unblocking Other Teams: Treat internal teams as key customers, measuring success by their ability to move faster and with greater confidence. Proactively identify risks, gaps, or constraints in the platform and address them before they become blockers.
  • Product Discovery & Definition: Translate platform needs and cross-team requirements into well-scoped epics and user stories with clear intent, success criteria, and acceptance standards. Collaborate with engineers to explore solution options, validate assumptions, and reduce technical and product risk. Balance collaborative problem-solving with solo ownership when clarity and speed are required.
  • Delivery Leadership & Workflow Management: Lead day-to-day delivery for the Platform Services team using Kanban practices, maintaining focus and flow. Partner closely with engineers and QA to sequence work, resolve ambiguity, and adapt plans as new information emerges. Leverage tooling and AI-assisted workflows to improve efficiency, clarity, and throughput.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration & Influence: Collaborate closely with Product Managers to ensure platform direction supports broader, cross-domain strategy. Work with other Product Owners to align sequencing, manage dependencies, and maintain platform coherence. Partner with designers to ensure shared patterns and experiences are consistent and scalable. Maintain strong communication with engineering leadership and stakeholders around progress, risks, and decisions.
  • Adheres to all confidentiality and compliance regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education & Work Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in a Product Owner, Product Manager, or similar role within a SaaS or platform-oriented environment.
  • Experience owning shared services, platform capabilities, or internal-facing products used by multiple teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex product decisions in collaborative, technically sophisticated environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Agile or Product Ownership certification (e.g., CSPO) is a plus, but not required.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of platform thinking, shared services, and enabling architecture.
  • Proven ability to balance near-term delivery with long-term extensibility and design integrity.
  • Comfort working closely with highly technical teams and contributing meaningfully to architectural discussions.
  • Ability to influence without authority and drive alignment across multiple teams.
  • Excellent communication skills and sound product judgment.
  • Experience with tools such as Jira, Pendo, Monday.com, or similar product and delivery platforms.
  • Analytical, systems-oriented mindset with a strong focus on unlocking business value.

Additional Considerations:

  • Experience working on data platforms, internal tooling, or service-oriented architectures is a plus.
  • Experience contributing to AI-enabled or data-driven platform capabilities is a plus.
