The role of the product owner is to work very closely with the business partner to understand the needs and the capabilities within our system (as understood from architects), to document the system requirements. They utilize these requirements with a team of developers and testers to complete the build of these system changes. They review this work to ensure it meets expectations and demo the work to business partners to ensure it meets ultimate business partner expectations. This individual collaborates closely with the IT Team, Business Partners, and other members of the team in similar roles to ensure coordination and alignment in deliver.

Requirements

Total Work Experience

  • Minimum Required: 4-6 years
  • Preferred: 7-9 years

English Proficiency

  • Minimum Required: Fluent

Experience Requirements:

  • Experience in an Agile environment.
  • Experience in Product Owner.

Stakeholders Communication & Alignment

  • Ability to communicate with stakeholders to make informed decisions and understand how the team will be affected, which allows you to manage the integrity of your work in your team.

Prioritization

  • Able to effectively prioritize work items to support business needs and proactively facilitate tradeoff communications based on priority and capacity limitations​. Able to adjust to changes that impact the direction of the goals and activities and enable the engaged team to adapt to the new circumstances.

Other Critical Skills

  • Demo / Presentation Skills - Intermediate
  • Written Communication / Requirements - Advanced
  • Preferred areas of study (Business Insurance, Commercial Multi-Peril Product)

Software / Tool Skills

  • Office Suite - Entry Level
  • Rally (or like system, i.e. JIRA) - Entry Level
