A Brief Overview
The HR Product Owner is responsible for maximizing the value of enterprise HR technology solutions by deeply understanding stakeholder needs and translating them into effective, scalable product capabilities. This role serves as the primary liaison between HR, business stakeholders, and technical delivery teams, ensuring that HR processes are efficient, meet strategic objectives, enhance employee experience, and operate successfully across the all Stanford Healthcare entities.
The HR Product Owner owns the vision and roadmap for an assigned HR product and manages the end-to-end solution lifecycle—from discovery and prioritization through delivery, test, adoption, and continuous improvement.

What you will do

  • Build strong partnerships with other Product Owners, HR Functional Areas, TDS/IT, and business stakeholders.

  • Elicit, analyze, and prioritize business requirements and translate them into actionable user stories and requirements.

  • Own the product vision, roadmap, and backlog for assigned enterprise HR experiences.

  • Lead solution delivery, in partnership with agile delivery teams and vendors to drive successful design, configuration, testing and implementation.

  • Ensure solutions comply with data privacy, security, and regulatory standards.

  • Support change management, adoption, training, and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Participate in and lead projects identified and defined by HR and TDS/IT Leadership with minimal supervision

  • Keep up with industry and technology trends and recommending features and functionality to meet business needs.

  • Build and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction through timely communication, transparency, problem solving, and fact-based decision making.

Education Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a work-related discipline/field from an accredited college or university.

Experience Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in HR systems, product ownership, or HR technology roles.

  • Experience with enterprise HR platforms (e.g., Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, Oracle HCM, UKG, ServiceNow HRSD, Skillsoft and other Learning Technologies).

  • Experience working in agile or hybrid delivery models.

Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $60.99 - $80.78 per hour

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training. This pay scale is not a promise of a particular wage.
