Team Building and Culture
The Product Manager - Energy will actively model and promote a set of desired behaviors aligned with UL Solutions critical behaviors for success. They will take ownership of their own career and professional development by documenting and communicating career aspirations and any associated development needs to their manager. They will also support career development needs of direct reports, by clearly defining expectations for their current role, actively soliciting their career aspirations and helping close any gaps.
Product Organization and Processes
A successful Product Manager will support an efficient cross-functional matrix structure to enable effective product development lifecycle management. They will execute a robust set of processes to power all parts of the product development lifecycle from research/discovery to release/launch management and product support.
Technical Skills
  • Facilitation skills - ability to lead small to medium groups of internal and external stakeholders towards desired outcomes to meet business objectives.
  • Interview skills - ability to conduct discovery sessions with clients, prospects and stakeholders in order to diagnose business opportunities, elicit requirements, and conduct other types of research and analysis.
  • Strong communication and presentation (PowerPoint) skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Product management tools - product/service design, analysis (Power BI), product/service development task management and project management, documentation and knowledge (SharePoint), collaboration (e.g. Microsoft Teams), roadmap and portfolio management (and related software tools).

QUALIFICATIONS
Required Experience
  • University Degree (Equivalent to Bachelor's degree) in Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.
  • Proven technical or business experience in Energy Equipment, Solar, Wind or a related industry field.
  • Experience or demonstrated competency in product management.
  • Demonstrated project management experience, with the ability to lead and coordinate complex projects.
  • Working with remote teams is highly valued.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Operational commercial experience in the segment as well as deep understanding of the marketplace.
  • 5+ years of related discipline experience, formal training and/or certification in Product Management is a plus.
  • 5+ years of technical or business experience in Energy Equipment, Solar, Wind or a related industry field.
  • Professional certifications in project management (e.g., PMP)
