Product Manager - Home Buying

The Home Buying team is responsible for end-to-end management of CommBank’s Home Loan business including distribution through proprietary and third-party channels, acquisition, retention, customer experience, risk, product and continuous improvement.
Within Home Buying, the Protection Value Team within the Specialty Product & Platforms Crew is dedicated to delivering customer obsessed solutions enabling low deposit customers to achieve their home ownership goals. We are responsible for the management and transformation of the Lenders’ Mortgage Insurance and Low Deposit Premium products.
Do work that matters
You will report to the Chapter Lead, Speciality Product and Simplification. As a Product Manager, you will play a key role on the transition to our new Lenders’ Mortgage Insurance provider. This Group-wide initiative will involve the integration of the end-to-end experience from origination to payment and claims services with the new Lenders’ Mortgage Insurance provider.
You will be a key contributor to the delivery of this initiative in line with our policy, compliance, risk, pricing, and procedure requirements, but most importantly with a customer obsession.
Key Responsibilities
Understand and represent the voice of the customer
Identifying and delivering upon all the business activities required for a seamless delivery, and resolving business problems as they arise by applying integrity and judgment
Work in a cross-functional squad and with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure the effective rollout of product changes
Articulate requirements and communicate business and customer value to the delivery team. Help establish success criteria.
Proactively identify, understand and manage operational risks relating to the initiative, uplifting and implementing controls where required
Participate in the quarterly business planning cycles, working with your squad to prioritise the backlog and accurately manage delivery expectations
We’re interested in hearing from people who have:
Previous experience in product management and business analysis is highly regarded, especially within financial services
Experience in delivering initiatives or change management
Proven stakeholder engagement skills, particularly with external vendors is highly regarded
Demonstrated commercial acumen and ability to apply sound judgment
Ability to navigate ambiguous situations and solve complex problems
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to articulate the support required and use effective strategies to escalate as needed
Knowledge of operations and compliance risk management or frameworks
Strong planning and time management skills with the ability to deal with competing priorities
Demonstrated experience working in an Agile environment preferred
