Product Manager

Sage is on a mission to improve care and quality of life for older adults, starting with those residing in senior living facilities. Falls are the leading cause of injury-related death among adults over 65. And yet, fall prevention and emergency response systems for older adults are archaic and ineffective. At Sage we've built a more modern way of understanding when older adults need help, including methods for residents to alert caregivers when in need of help, and corresponding software for caregivers to triage response. Our company mission is to create a product that our client counterparts love, and this role is a key part of that objective.

Sage is a small, tight team of ambitious, multi-disciplinary entrepreneurs. We are a software-enabled, mission-driven company, and are focused only on the problems that are central to achieving that mission. At Sage, we work hard and fast but also know that to build a truly important company, we need to treat our work as a marathon, and not a sprint. The journey matters.

About the Role

As a Product Manager on Sage's core senior living product, you will be responsible for the end-to-end discovery, delivery, and iteration of a product used daily by caregivers, nurses, and management teams in senior living communities across the country. Your goal will be to provide the best possible experience for these users, enabling them to effectively and efficiently manage, document, and improve the services provided to residents under their care.

Some examples of the work you'll be doing on any given day include:

  1. Learn Senior Living's Most Pressing Problems
    • Find the intersection of user needs, business problems, and product opportunity to drive real value for everyone from residents to caregivers to community management and executive leadership.
    • Conduct on-site user research and assist with implementations, representing Sage to residents, families, and community staff.
  2. Build a Product Users Love
    • Methodically navigate from problems to solutions, using research and your core team to quickly define and iterate on new functionality.
    • Work closely with engineering and design to refine requirements throughout product discovery and development, maintaining clear documentation that keeps everyone in sync.
    • Collaborate with product operations to ensure company-wide alignment and readiness for launching new features, and set clear success metrics to demonstrate that solutions solved real problems.
    • Regularly monitor feedback from clients and internal teams, always seeking opportunities to improve the product.
  3. Make Excellent Decisions With Available Data
    • Independently analyze qualitative and quantitative data to monitor key trends, identify problems early, and justify your product decisions.
    • Collaborate with the data team to represent product goals as metrics and charts, giving clients better visibility into their team's operations.
  4. Collaborate Seamlessly Across Teams
    • Tailor your communication style to the audience, whether they are a client success manager, hardware engineer, operations mastermind, or marketing expert.
    • Keep a team of peers organized without micromanaging them, and concisely summarize project updates and results to key stakeholders.
    • Work regularly with Design, Engineering, Data, Hardware, Implementation, Customer Success, and Business Development teams to ensure successful product delivery
