The Product Manager (PM) functions as the key business leader to increase the sales, profitability, and market share of assigned segment portfolio. The PM will provide direct interface with existing and new customers to fully satisfy their needs and will bring additional user knowledge to the organization.   

This role will work closely with Key Account Managers, Product Specialists, Process Engineering, Quality, Operations, Technology & Innovation, as well as have significant interface with customers. 

You will have the opportunity to: 

  • Develop and execute product strategies to drive business growth. 
  • Utilize personal industry knowledge and contacts to expand company’s sales in defined market.  
  • Solve customer problems through interface with technical service, production, quality assurance, account management and customer service. 
  • Coordinate with Sales Director(s) to establish sales territories, sales forecasts, quotes, quotas, incentives, methods, and goals, and advise dealers, distributors, and clients concerning sales and marketing techniques.  
  • Maintain sales volume, product mix, and selling price by keeping current with supply and demand, changing trends, economic indicators, and competitors. 
  • Research, analyze and monitor financial, technological and competitive factors so that market opportunities may be capitalized on, and the effects of competitive activity may be minimized. 
  • Review business results, ensure customer satisfaction, develop strategies for growth and formulate tactics to expand business opportunities. 
  • Develop and maintain the overall marketing communications strategy for all products and/or services including suggestions for trade shows, conferences, advertising, product information, etc. 
  • Demonstrate a strong grasp of company’s technical expertise.  Provide technical advice at customer’s sites. 
  • Analyze and suggest new market segments for company based upon analysis of company capabilities and market segment requirements. 

REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant technical, material science or engineering field or equivalent   
  • Minimum 5 years’ related professional experience  
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret information of a technical nature 
  • Interpersonal skills with keen ability to explain complex concepts to others 
  • Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office Suite 
  • Demonstrated project management skills 
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and relation-building skills 
  • Experience in coaching and training team members.  
  • Demonstrated ability to work with international teams. 
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to assess account profitability and pricing strategy 


 

Pay Range:

$111,600.00 - $178,200.00

Actual base salary offered varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.

The selection of the person to be hired for this position is contingent on the candidate having export compliance eligibility for access to U.S. controlled technology which comes under the licensing jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of State, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the U.S. Department of Commerce, Export Administration Regulations (EAR).

The candidate selected will have to qualify as either a U.S. citizen, a U.S. National, a lawful permanent resident of the U.S., a Person Admitted into the U.S. as an Asylee or Refugee., a National of a country that is not prohibited from having access to U.S. controlled technology (via a letter of assurance), or a Person to be approved for an export license by the governing agency whose technology comes under its jurisdiction. Please understand that any job offer that requires approval of an export license will be conditional on Materion’s determination that it will be able to obtain an export license in a time frame consistent with Materion’s business requirements.
