Provide customer-facing engineering support to develop product/process solutions, define CTQs, resolve design and quality issues, support sales growth, represent the company at customer sites and trade shows, and collaborate cross-functionally on product strategy and execution. Requires manufacturing experience, SAP or inventory-management experience, computer proficiency, English fluency, and export-compliance eligibility for access to controlled U.S. technology.

Lead and coach cross-functional teams to identify, vet, and implement process improvements using Lean Six Sigma/DMAIC. Apply statistical process control, analyze manufacturing data for root cause, develop SOPs, support new product/process development, and train/certify Yellow/Green Belts to improve yield, cycle time, quality, and cost.

Operate and set up multiple CNC and conventional machines to tight tolerances; perform setups, running, inspection, cleaning, and PMs; lead machine safety and workplace compliance; maintain tooling inventory and vendor relations; suggest process/program improvements and train others.

Manage and maintain the plant quality management system (AS9100D/ISO9001), lead internal/third-party audits including Nadcap, oversee lab testing and quality engineers, drive root cause/corrective actions and continuous improvement, support SAP part configuration, and provide facility-wide change management and statistical process control.

Support and improve manufacturing processes to increase machine reliability, product quality, and reduce cost. Implement and maintain process control systems and Statistical Process Control, lead or support improvement projects, troubleshoot equipment breakdowns, and create operator training and standard operating procedures.

Lead refinery operations to ensure safety, quality, and profitability. Manage teams, production scheduling, capacity planning, continuous improvement (Lean/5S), SOPs, staffing, and cross‑functional product introductions while meeting regulatory and financial objectives.

Perform sample preparation and analytical testing (ICP-OES, GDMS, SEM/EDX, metallography, tensile/hardness tests, LECO IGA, tap density), record/manage data in LIMS, maintain equipment and lab safety, support ISO 17025 quality system, and assist with process and safety improvement projects.

Set up and operate manual and CNC machine tools (lathes, mills, drill presses, grinders) to produce parts to blueprint tolerances. Read drawings, use precision measuring tools, maintain production records, report malfunctions, assist with maintenance, follow safety and QA procedures, and occasionally operate a forklift.

Own onsite accounting operations for the Jena manufacturing site, manage month-end/year-end close, prepare journal entries and reconciliations, support A/P and A/R, inventory and basic cost tracking, ensure local statutory compliance, assist consolidated reporting, liaise with corporate finance/tax/audit teams, support audits, and identify process improvements.

Develop, implement, and optimize metallurgical manufacturing processes (melting, casting, forming). Analyze production data, lead root-cause investigations, support product introductions, maintain documentation, drive Lean/Six Sigma continuous improvements, train operators, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance while improving KPIs for quality, yield, throughput, and cost.

Provide lab support across analytical and quality functions: prioritize and prepare samples, enter and report data, use SAP/QMS/Excel for certifications and inventory, manage equipment calibration, assist shipments, generate non-conformance reports, and support training and safety checks to maintain uninterrupted lab operations.

Lead design, planning, and execution of medium/low-voltage power distribution capital projects. Serve as electrical project lead, specify equipment, integrate controls (PLCs/HMIs/DCS/SCADA), oversee installation/commissioning, perform troubleshooting, ensure code compliance, develop standards and arc flash studies, and coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.

Lead development and scale-up of optical coating products and processes using Stage‑Gate methods; run medium technical projects, transfer technology to production, support global manufacturing sites, provide customer-facing technical support, create SOPs and documentation, mentor engineers, and contribute to IP and digitalization initiatives.

Design, fabricate, program, install, modify, and repair electrical control systems and machinery. Create electrical schematics and documentation. Perform PLC/HMI/automation controller programming focused on reliability and safety. Define scope and acceptance criteria for equipment, and analyze project requirements including electrical calculations.

Serve as HR business partner for a ~80-employee manufacturing site. Lead staffing, performance management, talent development, employee relations, apprenticeship and career ladder programs, succession planning, and HR continuous improvement while advising leadership and ensuring compliance.

Design, develop, and optimize optical thin film coatings; create manufacturing plans; support and improve PVD processes using Lean/Six Sigma; implement SPC and DOE; collaborate cross-functionally; train technicians; manage project schedules and budgets; maintain process documentation in ERP.
