Our client in the Scientific Instruments industry based in Accra is looking to recruit a full-time, dynamic, and experienced Product Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical knowledge of analytical instrumentation, commercial acumen, and strategic thinking. This role involves managing the assigned product portfolio, driving market growth, supporting the sales team, identifying new business opportunities, and serving as the key liaison between customers, sales teams, and product divisions. The Product Manager will play a critical role in developing and executing product strategies designed to strengthen market position and achieve revenue and profitability goals.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Portfolio Strategy & Lifecycle Management: Develop and execute product strategies from launch to maturity to drive revenue, market share, and profitability.
  • Market Development & Business Growth: Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and regulatory shifts to identify new opportunities and support targeted marketing campaigns.
  • Sales Support & Customer Engagement: Serve as the primary product expert in delivering technical presentations, leading product demonstrations, and supporting high-value tenders and sales opportunities.
  • Stakeholder Alignment: Collaborate closely with global product divisions and build strong relationships with key industry opinion leaders, customers, and partners.
  • Reporting & Market Feedback: Track KPIs, manage CRM data, and funnel customer insights and market requirements back to R&D and global Product Managers for continuous product improvement.  
  • Stay updated on the latest advancements in analytical instrumentation, laboratory technologies, and industry trends.


Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Physics, Instrumentation, Biotechnology, or a related scientific field. An advanced degree is an advantage.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in analytical instrumentation, laboratory technologies, product management, technical sales, business development, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of analytical chemistry techniques and laboratory workflows.
  • Proven experience in product portfolio management, market development, or strategic business growth.
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to translate technical solutions into customer value.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel more than 30% of his/her time to meet customers, partners, and attend industry events.


Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Physics, Instrumentation, Biotechnology, or related scientific field
  • Advanced degree (advantage)
