THE MISSION
As Product Manager for Risk, Credit and Fraud you will lead the way in defining and building a strategy for creating innovative ways to keep fraudulent users away from our platform while making sure good customers always have an amazing experience when using our products. You are customer obsessed while being genuinely interested in the technical landscape of digital commerce and identity. You will execute comprehensive Risk solutions that address some of the most challenging and unsolved financial risk problems in today’s BNPL environment, as we continue launching new products, expanding into new markets, and supporting our customers. You will be working in partnership with our CRO and data scientist to drive the discovery and development of our risk and fraud strategy driving product initiatives from inception through detailed execution. You will collaborate with other Product leaders to understand how your team can support their needs and the technical dependencies. you will be responsible for driving and executing Scalapay risk product strategy to drive our losses down and increase company profitability.
We are looking for a high-performing data-driven candidate that brings enthusiasm, passion and creativity to challenge the impossible. You will work both at the strategic level (generating bold and innovative ideas) and at the tactical level (executing the ideas, launching MVPs)
You will:
- Own the strategic roadmap and execution of Scalapay risk, fraud and credit solution across our products and markets. You will work directly with a team of engineers and data scientists to manage the entire product lifecycle;
- Help build sophisticated risk solutions at scale to enable Scalapay to grow and launch new products in a sustainable fashion;
- Collaborate with the wider risk team (data scientists & risk analysts) to understand product performance & risk trends to translate opportunities into solutions;
- Constantly be looking at market trends, new software and vendors that could enhance Scalapay’s ability to fight digital fraud;
- Drive a cross-functional team to set qualitative objectives and quantitative goals;
- Own and manage relationships with vendors and providers around the risk and fraud domain. You will be responsible for driving technical implementation from the start (vendor evaluation and selection) as well as making sure the solution we implement makes business sense.
You’ll be great for this role if you:
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or similar, a Masters degree is preferred.
- Have at least 5+ years of experience in product management and leadership in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Extensive experience and knowledge of online fraud in a digital environment is a must (ecommerce, food delivery, mobility etc).
- Domain expertise in risk, payments, identity or trust and safety within a marketplace type environment.
- Are fluent in Italian & English (you will work with teams across multiple countries)
- Are a technically minded person with a passion to keep abreast of market trends and an ever-changing digital fraud landscape.
- Have clear urgency to move quickly, scrappy when necessary, along with an agile mindset for problem-solving.
- Demonstrate examples of work whereby you were directly involved in moving the needle within your product metrics.
- You understand technical integration and can confidently drive RFP and software evaluation with partners.
- Wear multiple hats (this is a startup - get ready to multitask and get your hands dirty).
- You’re excellent tactically, with experience shipping elegant products at scale. You’ve launched end-customer facing products
- Experience in a regulated environment would be a plus.

The buy now pay later service is available in over 7.000 physical stores and in the e-stores of more than 5.000 brands. The cost of the service is totally free for the customer and is financed by a commission applied to retailers who are immediately paid for their product.
