The Product Operations team is dedicated to driving Salesforce’s product planning and delivery life cycle. We work with product executives, product managers, technology program managers, and operations leaders across Technology & Product to run efficient product life cycle processes, drive data-informed decisions, and create actionable insights that enable our stakeholders to increase their productivity, effectiveness, and impact.
 
This individual contributor role will drive the planning, design, and development of applications to support critical processes across the product life cycle. You will be responsible for identifying business requirements and jobs to be done, and writing epics and user stories with clear acceptance criteria. You will partner with a dedicated engineering team to define solution designs, ensure smooth execution, and deliver high quality features that meet the needs of the organization. You will also represent the product operations organization in India and build relationships with our customers in-region. 

Responsibilities:

  • Define and deliver features and solutions to enable the effective operations of the product organization throughout the product life cycle.

  • Work with cross-functional stakeholders to identify business requirements and jobs to be done.

  • Maintain and prioritize a product feature roadmap and backlog aligned with organizational objectives.

  • Drive planning, solution designs, testing plans, and execution of applications and features.

  • Write epics and user stories with clear acceptance criteria for execution and delivery by an engineering team.

  • Participate in technical discussions and conduct impact assessments of your products.

  • Make design decisions that provide a unified holistic technology solution, incorporate governance and operational considerations, and optimize user experience while meeting business and technical requirements.

  • Review and understand data and data quality requirements.

  • Develop a minimal viable product (MVP) for new products.

  • Lead and obtain strategic buy-in from stakeholders.

  • Develop and execute a change enablement plan for leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.

  • Incorporate dependencies with related functionality & products and external project timelines into your roadmap.

  • Communicate product vision, roadmap and progress to cross-functional stakeholders.

  • Drive adoption of features and solutions delivered. 

Experience / Skills Required:

  • 6+ years of Product Management experience building and delivering core product / platform features.

  • Degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Information Systems, or related field with 2- 4 yrs related information systems experience.

  • Experience building and managing products.

  • General familiarity with Product Development Life Cycle.

  • Experience with and knowledge of Salesforce platform is mandatory.

  • Knowledge of software development methodologies and project management principles.

  • Excellent spoken and written communication, receptive listening skills, and ability to convey complex ideas in a clear, concise fashion to technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Ability to work with ambiguity in a fast paced environment, balance multiple projects and tasks, and learn quickly in a dynamic environment.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Experience / Skills Desired:

  • Project management and / or portfolio management software experience.

  • Experience as a technical business analyst / implementation consultant / solutions architect supporting Salesforce and associated applications.

  • Experience or familiarity with Product Operations processes or concepts, such as product planning, development, maintenance, etc.

  • Application integration experience with Mulesoft or equivalent technology.

  • Salesforce Certifications preferred.

  • Experience with Agile and Scrum techniques.

  • Knowledge of Analytics platforms, data visualization, and data quality

  • Demonstrable experience with process improvement or transformation 

  • Solid grasp of information technology architecture components, principles, procedures and practices.

  • Experience with enterprise-level software applications and technologies

  • Experience with Human Capital Management and Finance systems
