Product Manager 

IHC is seeking a product manager to develop integrated solutions (equipment, automation and services) for Defence and Offshore products. Typical success products are advanced tensioners for offshore cable laying, complex Launch and Recovery Systems for defence, tools and modular equipment packages with integrated automation. You are to execute product management in line with the IHC portfolio strategy, according to the newest life cycle models and in a team of product managers that support each other. 

Product management is a network function requiring support from various departments, external stakeholders and management. You guide product teams of relevant disciplines, together developing and executing the product strategy. The strategy rolls up to a portfolio aligned with top management of IHC, IHC shipbuilding and the technology department. You independently attend network events, present your products and visit customers with the account manager during the product launch.  

For most product managers it is a function that they never want to let go, however career perspectives can be seen in the direction of sales/business development, management or engineering specialist. 

Role & Responsibilities  

Your end goal is to ensure products meet customer needs and are profitable for IHC, by means of:  

• Defining a competitive product portfolio; develop and bring new products to the market and optimize existing products and their marketing mix. 

• Identify opportunities to launch existing products in new markets and do all that is necessary until the new market can be considered as business as usual . 

• Develop business cases, a product canvas and development agenda for new product concepts. 

• Plan new product processes, specify market requirements, define commercial product specifications, in close collaboration with R&D and innovation partners. 

• A proactive understanding of client needs, base pricing, stock etc.  

• Representing IHC on trade shows, customer visits etc. 

• Maintaining an outward focus while leading the product groups 

• Manage the development agenda on time and budget 

Qualifications  

The ideal candidate will bring in relevant experience and a positive track record:  

• Understanding the maritime market and / or complex integrated solutions 

• Proficiency in leading and managing cross functional teams (using Agile and Scrum) 

• Have a commercial mindset. Be able and willing to build relations outside IHC, worldwide. Know what drives a customer and how to create added value therein. 

• Able to maintain a holistic view while making concepts practical 

• A completed master's degree and 5 years relevant product / development experience  

• A sound technical background is beneficial but not crucial
