ResponsibilitiesAbout the role

The Product Manager II is responsible for driving innovation and continuous improvement within the GM Financial B2C/B2B channels. Reporting to the Senior Product Manager, the Product Manager II will drive the execution of a roadmap of features and experiences that exceed customer expectations and meet business objectives. You're a collaborator who can work closely among developers, UX designers, marketers, analytics teams and operations leaders. You'll understand some of GM Financial's key digital customer channels and you'll be recognized as a fierce advocate for putting the customer at the center of everything we do.
In this role you will:
Prepare well-structured backlog items in advance of team refinement sessions
Write clear and complete acceptance criteria that cover core scenarios and key variations
Break down high-level ideas into logical, incremental work that can be delivered iteratively
Identify missing requirements, assumptions, and gaps early in the delivery process
Maintain backlog readiness to support sprint cycles and PI planning activities
Coordinate and track cross-team dependencies and follow through on blockers to resolution
Collaborate with engineering, architecture, internal GM Financial teams, and external partners to ensure requirements are complete and actionable
Ensure backlog items accurately reflect business workflows, data requirements, and system interactions
Apply AI tools to accelerate backlog preparation, improve requirement quality, and expand scenario coverage

Strong Product Management execution skills with the ability to prepare high-quality backlog items for team refinement
Experience working in Agile or SAFe delivery environments supporting sprint and PI planning activities
Ability to break down complex problems into structured scenarios and incremental work while identifying gaps, risks, and edge cases early
Strong ability to own cross-team dependencies and ensure coordinated execution across internal GM Financial teams and external partners
Working understanding of APIs, system integrations, and data dependencies with the ability to think beyond UI to system behavior and data flow
Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate complex concepts across technical and business audiences
Working knowledge of the automotive F&I industry, including aftermarket products, lifecycle processes, and the roles of dealers, lenders, and third-party administrators
Understanding of modern automotive digital retailing concepts and the ability to reason through cross-system workflows involving customer, dealer, and lender systems
Demonstrated practical use of AI tools to improve backlog quality, expand scenario coverage, and accelerate delivery
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent work experience required
2-4 years' experience as a Product Owner/Manager on an Agile Scrum team required
Licenses and Certifications
Agile Certifications required
