POSITION SUMMARY:

The Product Manager, Digital Experience supports Bass Pro Shops’ commitment to building innovative digital solutions that inspire everyone to love, enjoy, and conserve the outdoors. This customer-centered role is responsible for shaping connected digital experiences across web, mobile, and emerging platforms by translating customer needs, business opportunities, and technical capabilities into actionable product solutions. 

Blending product strategy, customer experience thinking, and agile execution, this role guides initiatives from early discovery and concept exploration through implementation and continuous optimization. The Product Manager, Digital Experience leverages customer insights, analytics, AI-assisted workflows, modern product methodologies, and design systems to rapidly ideate, visualize, and define scalable digital experiences. 

In addition to product strategy and backlog management responsibilities, this role actively contributes to solution definition through the creation of workflows, wireframes, mockups, prototypes, user stories, acceptance criteria, and other implementation-ready artifacts that support engineering and delivery teams. This role requires strong product thinking, systems awareness, creativity, and collaboration skills, with a focus on delivering intuitive and cohesive digital experiences that drive measurable customer and business outcomes. 

This is an in-office role that requires being onsite in Springfield, Missouri. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  

Drive Product Discovery, Experience Strategy, and Solution Ideation (35%) 

  • Explore and identify opportunities that lead to meaningful customer, business, and product outcomes  .
  • Engage in continuous product discovery through customer research, analytics, usability insights, session replay tools, competitive benchmarking, stakeholder collaboration, and user testing.
  • Translate customer needs, operational challenges, and business goals into actionable digital product opportunities and experience solutions.
  • Utilize AI-assisted tools and modern product methodologies to accelerate ideation, workflow creation, concept exploration, documentation, and solution evaluation .
  • Facilitate collaborative workshops, journey mapping activities, workflow definition sessions, feature ideation, and product alignment discussions. 
  • Balance customer experience, business value, technical feasibility, operational impact, and scalability throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Define product objectives, KPIs, assumptions, success metrics, and feature goals for digital initiatives and enhancements.

Create Experience Artifacts and Delivery-Ready Product Definitions (35%) 

  • Create experience flows, wireframes, prototypes, mockups, journey maps, and other visual artifacts that communicate product direction and interaction behaviors.
  • Leverage established design systems, reusable patterns, and platform standards to ensure scalable and cohesive digital experiences.
  • Create and maintain user stories, acceptance criteria, workflows, functional requirements, annotations, and supporting implementation artifacts for engineering teams.  
  • Translate concepts and experience direction into clear, organized, developer-ready documentation that supports efficient implementation and delivery quality.  
  • Utilize visual artifacts and prototypes to communicate intended user experiences, workflows, edge cases, interaction patterns, and functional expectations.  
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, QA, analytics, and business stakeholders to refine solutions and ensure delivery alignment.  
  • Lead and facilitate backlog refinement, sprint planning, solution reviews, acceptance testing, and implementation alignment activities.  
  • Manage and prioritize product backlogs to support iterative delivery and evolving business priorities.  

Support Product Evolution, Optimization, and Continuous Improvement (20%) 

  • Monitor product performance, customer behavior, feature adoption, and experience effectiveness to identify optimization opportunities and iterative improvements.  
  • Support ongoing refinement and evolution of digital experiences based on customer feedback, analytics, experimentation, and business priorities.  
  • Stay informed on emerging technologies, AI capabilities, digital commerce trends, and evolving customer expectations to identify opportunities for innovation.  
  • Support the evolution of internal product processes, workflows, design systems usage, and digital experience practices.  
  • Contribute to a culture of experimentation, continuous improvement, and customer-centered product thinking across digital initiatives.  

Advance Personal and Professional Expertise Through Individual Development Efforts (10%) 

  • Proactively maintain a personal growth plan by learning new skills, exploring emerging technologies, and staying informed on evolving digital product, customer experience, AI, and ecommerce trends.  
  • Continuously evaluate and adopt modern tools, workflows, and methodologies that improve product discovery, solution exploration, communication, and delivery effectiveness.  
  • Pursue opportunities to strengthen product strategy, customer experience, agile delivery, analytics, and digital solutioning capabilities.  
  • Maintain an experimental and iterative mindset, applying new learnings and approaches to improve team processes, product outcomes, and customer experiences.  
  • Share knowledge, tools, workflows, and best practices with teammates to support continuous improvement and operational maturity across the digital experience organization.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Degree Required:    Bachelor's Degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, User Experience, Digital Product Design, Marketing, or related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience in digital product management, customer experience, or digital commerce. 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE 

  • 3+ years of experience in relevant areas like digital product management, digital experience strategy, UX design, product design, business analysis, ecommerce, customer experience, or related digital solutioning roles.  
  • Experience working within agile product development environments supporting customer-facing digital products, ecommerce experiences, mobile applications, or omnichannel initiatives.  
  • Experience translating customer needs, business objectives, and operational requirements into actionable digital solutions and implementation-ready artifacts.  
  • Experience creating or contributing to user stories, workflows, wireframes, mockups, prototypes, acceptance criteria, functional requirements, or related delivery documentation.  
  • Experience utilizing customer research, analytics, usability insights, testing, or experimentation to inform product decisions and solution direction.  
  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally with product managers, UX designers, developers, analysts, QA teams, marketers, or business stakeholders.  
  • Experience leveraging design systems, reusable components, or established interaction patterns to support scalable digital experiences preferred.  
  • Familiarity with modern collaborative and visualization tools such as Figma, Jira, Confluence, Miro, FigJam, or similar platforms preferred.  
  • Familiarity with analytics, experimentation, session replay, or customer insight platforms such as Quantum Metric, Adobe Analytics, GA4, Hotjar, or similar tools preferred.  
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted workflows or modern digital tools that support ideation, prototyping, documentation, research synthesis, or delivery enablement preferred.  
  • Experience supporting iterative product delivery, backlog management, sprint planning, or agile execution practices preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:

  • Strong product thinking with the ability to translate customer needs, business objectives, and technical considerations into actionable digital solutions.  
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and independently drive product discovery, solution exploration, and experience definition.
