Data Access Security Product Manager

About the Job
SailPoint, the industry leader in Identity Security software, is looking for a Product Manager to join our Data Security Product Team to drive our governance solution for Structured, Semi-Structured and Unstructured Data Sources.

The Product Manager is a key position responsible for the success of SailPoint products in the marketplace. The position requires strong product management and leadership skills that balance market needs with SailPoint strategy, and top communication skills both internally and externally. Additionally, a technical understanding of enterprise data environments and rapidly evolving security and compliance technologies is critical.

We’re looking for a savvy Product Manager to join our core product team to drive the vision of SailPoint’s Data Security and Governance platform, and help design, execute and deliver it to market. 

The Role

The Product Manager must be comfortable working closely with engineering to drive roadmap execution and optimize experience, as well as support go-to-market and enablement activities. Consistent communication with internal stakeholders as well as customers, is expected to have a continuous feedback loop.

In 90 days, you would be on-boarded and be able to assist in defining requirements and driving execution for new features and enhancement to existing capabilities, supporting enablement efforts, as well participating in customer research.

In 6 months, you would have a good overall understanding of the product and the Identity Security platform and be able to articulate the product roadmap and core value proposition to customers and internal stakeholders. You would independently define product requirements, drive execution efforts and support launch activities for medium and large initiatives, as well as conduct customer research, gather feedback and validate adoption.

In 1 year, you would have a full understanding the Data Security product and a very good familiarity with the entire platform. You would be able to articulate market problems and clearly derive business cases and product requirements based on individual customer research, as well as perform competitive and industry research to understand and identify trends. You would be able to lead product grooming and execution efforts all the way to a successful launch of major capabilities, establishing clear milestones and delivery deadlines.
 

Responsibilities

  • Drive product activities and execution advancement, including cross-product capabilities through independent and collaborative customer research and articulating business requirements
  • Work closely with engineering and user experience to define the business problem to be solved and collaborate on the solution delivered in the software.
  • Work with other internal stakeholders to understand their suggestions for advancing the product.
  • Collaborate with other product teams to define business problems and possible solutions.
  • Help develop, prioritize and manage the product roadmap in a lean / agile environment.
  • Evangelize the SailPoint strategy at external events and on customer calls, understand customer goals and objectives plans, and discuss how those fit the SailPoint strategy.
  • Support go-to-market activities with marketing, sales, sales engineers, and support.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in a product management role – Must
  • Previous experience working with SaaS products – Must
  • Experience with Data Security, Governance and Privacy is a big plus.
  • Ability for self-learning, working independently and adapting to dynamic priorities
  • Passion for identifying market needs and clarifying customer problems
  • Demonstrated success in working with engineering teams to plan, develop, refine, and launch successful security software products
  • Experience prioritizing projects, building backlogs, and defining product roadmaps
  • Experience presenting product roadmaps and vision
  • Excellent interpersonal, facilitation, and communication skills
  • Education: BA/BS in business or technical field or MBA preferred but not required.
  • Travel: This position requires approximately 20% travel
