About Paynovate

Paynovate is a Belgium-based fintech (80+ people) operating as a regulated e-money institution. We design and run payment solutions across acquiring, issuing, and banking. As we scale our platform and product organisation, we are building more structure across teams to support our growth and improve how we deliver.

The role

Own and scale Paynovate’s acquiring product into a best-in-class payment experience across online and in-store, while bringing clarity, ownership, and strong execution across teams.

You will play a key role in structuring and scaling our acquiring activities, ensuring clear roles and responsibilities between Product, Engineering, and Operations.

A key focus of the role will be to drive execution excellence, by ensuring initiatives are clearly scoped, dependencies are actively managed, and ownership is well defined across teams.

We are looking for someone who can take the lead on initiatives end-to-end, proactively manage dependencies, and ensure consistent follow-up through to delivery.
You’ll join at a key moment as Paynovate continues to scale its acquiring capabilities, with strong opportunities to improve performance, scalability, and merchant experience.

This is a hands-on role where impact comes from both defining the right priorities and making sure they are effectively delivered.

What success looks like

Your success will be measured through tangible improvements in platform performance, scalability, and merchant experience:

  • Achieve platform stability in line with top-tier PSPs (≥99.9% uptime on critical payment flows)
  • Ensure full reconciliation coverage across all acquiring flows (auth > capture > settlement > payout)
  • Deliver significant growth in e-commerce volumes
  • Increase agent and merchant satisfaction

What you’ll do

Own and scale the product

  • Define and drive the roadmap for acquiring (online + POS)
  • Structure and scale acquiring activities in collaboration with Operations
  • Clarify roles and responsibilities across Product, Ops, and Engineering

Drive execution end-to-end

  • Lead initiatives from idea to delivery . Not just definition
  • Scope features properly before development
  • Identify, track, and resolve dependencies across teams
  • Ensure continuous follow-up with Engineering and stakeholders

Bring sturcture where needed

  • Improve how work is scoped, prioritised, and delivered
  • Create clarity in processes without adding unnecessary overhead
  • Strengthen collaboration between Product and Operations

Be accountable for outcomes

  • Own performance of the acquiring product
  • Ensure delivery is predictable and aligned with business priorities
  • Continuously improve execution speed and quality
What we’re looking for
  • 5+ years of experience in Product Management in a tech-driven environment
  • Strong experience in payments (ideally acquiring / PSP / EMI)
  • Good understanding of card payment flows (authorisation to settlement)
  • Strong execution mindset: you deliver, not just define
  • Able to lead cross-team initiatives and manage dependencies
  • Comfortable with ambiguity; brings structure and drives progress
  • Comfortable working on technical topics (APIs, payment systems, reliability)
  • Able to operate effectively in an evolving environment
  • English is required; French or Dutch is a plus
      What we offer
      • A central role on a critical product domain (acquiring)
      • Real ownership with direct impact on business performance and merchant experience
      • The opportunity to shape how product is built as the company scales
      • A fast-growing fintech environment where your impact is tangible
      • A strong team culture: ownership, autonomy, and high standards
      • A flexible and modern way of working (hybrid setup)
      • A competitive salary package (mobility budget, insurance, meal vouchers, 32 days holiday, etc.)
      • If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you!

        Skills Required

        • 5+ years of experience in Product Management in a tech-driven environment
        • Strong experience in payments, ideally acquiring / PSP / EMI
        • Solid understanding of card payment flows (authorisation, capture, settlement, reconciliation)
        • Experience with POS / payment terminals / in-store payments
        • Comfortable working on technical topics (APIs, payment systems, reliability)
