Viavi is looking for a Position, Navigation and Timing (PNT) Product Line Manager to drive market adoption and commercial success of our resilient timing and networking solutions in high-growth markets including defense, data center, and telecommunication.
This role combines strategic outbound marketing with hands-on collaboration with the cross-functional product development team to accelerate new product introduction, customer engagement and revenue growth. You will be a member of the product line management team working across the business unit, R&D, solutions engineering and sales organizations to drive commercial success.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsibilities
Product Management and Strategy
- Contribute to product roadmap development and business case creation aligned with growth opportunities in defense, data center infrastructure, and telecommunications markets
- Collaborate with PLM and R&D teams to translate customer requirements into detailed product Marketing Requirements Documents (MRDs) that address significant business opportunities
- Present market trends, business updates, and product recommendations to internal stakeholders including the leadership team
- Support product lifecycle management from concept through end-of-life
- Support pricing strategy, business models, and competitive positioning
Customer and Market Engagement
- Support key customer design-ins through product presentations, both virtually and in person
- Engage directly with customers and prospects to understand application requirements, identify new opportunities, and position VIAVI PNT timing products for adoption
- Partner with global sales and solutions engineering teams to develop customer engagement strategy within target market segments
- Provide follow-up support to product management and customers by disseminating product information on specific applications
- Attend trade shows and host seminars to promote VIAVI PNT solutions
Product Marketing and Go-To-Market
- Develop compelling product positioning, messaging, and value propositions
- Create sales enablement materials including presentations, competitive analyses, product collateral, application notes, and sales training content
- Support cross-functional product launches across multiple regions
- Analyze market adoption, customer feedback and competitive trends to improve product positioning and drive commercial success
- Participate in commercial and government RFIs, and RFPs planning, scoping and delivery
- Assist with product management and configuration with VIAVI system tools
Product Collateral and Marketing Support
- Develop content for sales training and customer education
- Support creation, maintenance, and review of marketing materials, datasheets, and application notes
- Assist PLM and Marketing teams in creating and reviewing sales and product collateral (product briefs, quick-start guides, application notes, use cases, product battle cards, etc.) with hands-on experience with the products

Required experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field. An equivalent amount of related experience may be substituted for this academic background
- Ability to read datasheets, understand technical specifications, and engage in technical discussions
- Strong understanding of the product development process, manufacturing, and product lifecycle management processes
- Creativity: Ability to develop innovative approaches to customer engagement, competitive positioning, and sales enablement
- Collaboration: Works effectively across functions including sales, engineering, and operations
- Business acumen: Understanding of P&L dynamics, market segmentation, and value-based pricing. Understanding of market analysis (TAM/SAM/SOM modeling), competitive positioning, business case development and go-to-market
- Communication excellence: Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with ability to tailor messaging for a diverse set of audiences (engineers, sales teams, customers)
- Problem-solving mindset: Natural ability to break down complex challenges, identify root causes, and develop practical solutions

- Hands-on ability to operate the products at a basic level
- Ability to obtain a US DOD Secret security clearance
