The Product Line Manager (PLM) is responsible for meeting annual and long-term financial goals of assigned product lines — including revenue, profitability, and growth — through strong cross-functional leadership and open, consistent communication. The PLM defines and drives product strategy and management including market analysis, value propositions, brand and price positioning, product development, go-to-market strategy, and sales enablement. This role leverages deep customer and market insights to develop targeted messaging that drives customer growth, acquisition, and retention, while proactively identifying market trends to ensure long-term success.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

Product Line Management

  • Achieve organizational targets for growth, profitability, and market competitiveness through effective product management, including optimal product mix, price and cost targets, to deliver gross margin and sales goals.

  • Define, own, and drive long-term data-driven growth strategies to increase revenue, market share, and customer retention.

  • Develop, implement, and drive the execution of Product/Portfolio Management Plans.

  • Design and drive go-to-market planning and execution, including messaging, positioning, differentiators, benefits, collateral, tools, and training.

  • Lead the execution of product line initiatives, including:

  • Product line marketing strategy, collaborating with leadership and Afinitas marketing to ensure consistency of message across the organization.

  • Prioritizing product development plans (NPD, cost reduction, and continuous improvement) through collaboration with product development, supply chain, operations, and sales.

  • Suggesting product marketing and sales promotions and other programs to deliver top-line sales revenue objectives.

  • Collaborating with Sales on channel and geographic expansions.

Pricing Strategy & Execution

  • Create and implement pricing frameworks and tools by product line, market, and customer segment.

  • Drive data-driven decision making through the use of advanced analytics to evaluate pricing performance, elasticity, and margin impact.

  • Build models to simulate pricing scenarios and forecast revenue impact.

  • Lead large, multi-product RFQs and execute large or strategically significant pricing decisions.

Market & Competitive Analysis

  • Monitor industry trends, competitor pricing, and customer behavior.

  • Develop direct market insight through regular customer interactions.

  • Identify and develop new markets.

  • Travel as required to develop, support, maintain, and enhance positive working relationships with key customers, sales, channel partners, and key industry influencers. Gather VOC, present NPD and commercial strategies, and facilitate issue resolution as required.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Communicate the value proposition of products to the sales team and develop tools that support the selling process.

  • Assist in the monthly forecasting processes to ensure P&L goals are achieved.

  • Support inside sales/customer service with pricing tools and guidance.

  • Support leadership in long-term strategic planning for category growth and expansion.

Qualifications & Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field; MBA preferred.

  • 7+ years of experience in business leadership, product line management, or operations. Engineering background preferred.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of steel reinforcement, precast, and/or prestress a plus, including a deep understanding of applications, channel, competitors, and legislative/regulatory issues.

  • Proven ability to develop meaningful relationships with customers at all organizational levels.

  • Deep experience collaborating with sales, technical, and business teams, representing the interests of partners and customers, and gathering customer feedback.

  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive operational excellence.

  • Financial competence, with familiarity in planning and forecasting.

  • Demonstrated excellence in business strategy and development.

  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
