Specialist Functions is one of the departments in Range Operations and hosts several assignments connected to specialists. Now the Specialist Functions is diversifying its skills, and we are growing to get even closer to the product range.
India Way Forward is a long-term direction to exponentially grow IKEA in India and reach our ambitious goals. It is a joint effort of the full value chain of Inter IKEA and INGKA, brought under one clear direction for India 2030. It focuses on – amongst other things – repositioning the IKEA brand, creating a more relevant local range offer, tackling the challenges of compliance and creating new customer meeting points.
We are now building a new team with diverse competence to take the next step in this journey and are looking for 2 Product Lifecycle Engineers.
In this role you will be reporting to the Compliance and Requirements Manager for Expanding Markets.
Job Description
As Product Lifecycle Engineer (PLE) you support the engineering team with administration, documentation, and verification activities. You will help to ensure that product information is up-to-date and according to IKEA documentation guidelines and standards. You contribute that we can sell our products to the many people. With this in the center of the assignment, IKEA provides great opportunities to learn, develop and grow with this assignment as well as in IKEA.
So, in short you are going to work with the following areas:
- Responsible for making moderate changes to products including technical requirements, labels, 2D and 3D drawings.
- Securing that technical product documentation is up to date and according to IKEA documentation guidelines and standards.
- Finding and acting on gaps in product documentation.
- Taking responsibility for the legal compliance marking of the products.
- Working closely with engineers in several teams including purchasing organization and several product development centers in parallel.
Qualifications
- Ideally, you have a Degree in Engineering.
- You are passionate about keeping things in order and passion for details.
- Working in a structured way and take the lead in planning and executing your own work.
- Is a plus to be knowledgeable in 3D/2D drawings and SolidWorks.
- Structured in your ways of working and you have strong analytical skills.
- Strong in your communication skills and can create confidence and build relations.
- IKEA of Sweden is a truly global environment, with colleagues from all over the world and you therefore need to be fluent in English both verbal and written.
