Essential Duties, Responsibilities and Job Requirements:
- Act as primary engineering support to manufacturing, answering product questions, evaluating equipment and processes and designing, developing and implementing improvements.
- Troubleshoot and solve assembly issues and develop interim solutions and follow through permanent solutions.
- Assist in new product introductions, from concept to design to production, taking project ownership from a life cycle management perspective once launched to achieve quality and throughput enhancements.
- Provide input, design and develop various fixturing to assist in production, utilizing Poke-A-Yoke to the largest extent possible while maintaining an efficient product flow.
- Lead both customer and internally initiated life cycle enhancement efforts.
- Must be able to interface with suppliers, manufacturing personnel and, to a lesser extent, customers in a dynamic environment.
- Work with quality and procurement in communicating supplier issues and accomplishments efficiently in a timely manner.
- Provide support to purchasing/engineering by qualifying new products, processes and materials. This will require UL test lab certification.
- Provide support to continual improvement efforts, including corrective action getting to root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
- Support CSM (lean manufacturing) initiatives by participating in events, assisting wherever possible and following up to ensure that gains are maintained.
Skills/Experience Required:
- At least 3 years of manufacturing engineering experience required
- Quality and/or Manufacturing experience preferred
- CAD/3D Modeling proficiency- Pro-E / CREO Preferred
- Mechanical aptitude
- Project management
- Cursory understanding of ISO 9000
- Product Manufacturing Experience
Education Requirements:
- 4 year degree in engineering or engineering technologies
