Experience: 5-7 Years

Why this role exists
The product is built and in market. The gap is distribution: not enough of the right people know it exists, try it, or stay long enough to become advocates.
We are hiring a Growth Product Manager who understands AI products deeply enough to explain it credibly to practitioners, and who treats acquisition, activation and community as systems to be instrumented and iterated — with the mandate to change the product itself when that is the right lever.
Roles and responsibilities
Inbound and the self-serve funnel
    • Own the end-to-end journey from first touch to activated user, and the metrics at every step in between.
    • Rework docs, onboarding, quickstarts and the first-run experience as conversion surfaces rather than documentation chores.
    • Run experiments on positioning, landing pages and time-to-first-value. Ship, measure, keep or kill.
Product evangelism
    • Be the most credible external voice on what the product does and why it matters — talks, demos, podcasts, webinars, conferences and developer meetups.
    • Write the technical content that earns trust with practitioners: deep dives, benchmarks, architecture posts, migration guides and honest comparisons.
    • Turn real customer work into public proof through case studies, reference implementations and sample applications.
Community and ecosystem
    • Build and run the community surfaces so that they are places people get genuine value, not support queues.
    • Convert users into contributors: good first issues, contributor documentation, recognition, and a clear path from user to champion.
    • Grow the ecosystem through integrations, partners and third-party builders who extend our surface area and distribution.
Product-led growth loops
    • Own the roadmap for growth features: sharing, invites, templates, public artefacts, embeds, referral mechanics and in-product prompts.
    • Write the specs, prioritise with engineering, and ship. This is a real product surface with committed engineering capacity, not a marketing wishlist.
    • Identify where the core experience is blocking distribution, and make the case for fixing it.
Instrumentation and insight
    • Define the growth metric tree, get it instrumented properly, and make it visible to the whole team.
    • Build the feedback loop that carries community conversations and funnel data back into the core product roadmap.
How performance will be measured
Primary
    • Qualified inbound volume, and its quality
    • Signup to activation rate, and time to first value
    • Weekly and monthly active usage retention
    • Self-serve to paid conversion, where applicable
Secondary
    • Community size, and more importantly active participation and contributor count
    • Organic and inbound share of new pipeline
    • Ecosystem integrations shipped, and their adoption
    • Share of voice in the relevant practitioner communities
Who we are looking for
Essential
    • 2+ years across product, growth or developer-relations roles, including at least one stretch owning a growth number end to end.
    • Technical depth: you can install the product, break it, read the API surface, and hold a credible conversation with an engineer. You need not have been an engineer, but engineers must trust you.
    • Demonstrated experience taking an already-built product to a larger audience — funnel work that moved, content that converted, a community that actually grew.
    • Comfort writing and speaking in public. Clear, opinionated, free of marketing filler.
    • Data fluency: you form hypotheses, size them, run experiments and read the results honestly.
Desirable
    • Open-source or developer-tooling background, with an understanding of how adoption converts into commercial revenue.
    • Experience with bottom-up, product-led go-to-market motions.
    • Existing standing in a relevant practitioner community.

Skills Required

  • At least 2 years of experience across product, growth, or developer relations roles
  • Experience owning a growth metric or number end to end
  • Technical depth sufficient to install and troubleshoot the product, understand its API surface, and communicate credibly with engineers
  • Demonstrated experience expanding adoption of an existing product through funnel optimization, converting content, or community growth
  • Comfort writing and speaking publicly
  • Data fluency, including hypothesis formation, experiment sizing, experimentation, and results analysis
  • Open-source or developer-tooling background
  • Experience with bottom-up, product-led go-to-market motions
  • Existing standing in a relevant practitioner community
