Product Imaging Engineer with interest in embedded development – Intercoms, Lund

The Intercom team at New Business R&D is looking for a new colleague. Could that be you?

Who is your future team?

We're a collaborative group of engineers passionate about solving complex problems and driving innovation. We develop and maintain the firmware of the Intercom products in the Axis portfolio, which also includes ensuring a market leading camera solution. You will be collaborating with co-workers from different disciplines, such as mechanical design, electronics, software, production testing and of course with other imaging engineers.

What you’ll do here as Product Imaging Engineer?

You will work in our firmware development team, where your key responsibility is to ensure our developed intercom products are delivered with high image/video quality. The work is both hardware focused (e.g. choosing sensor and optics in an early stage of the development and possibly writing parts of sensor back-end), software focused (e.g. tuning the image pipeline), as well as focused on production (e.g. defining quality standards in terms of production test limits). In addition, you will sometimes have the possibility to do embedded development in other areas of our products (audio, RFID, etc.) to broaden your horizons.

We focus on continuous learning and growth and allocate 10% of our time to exploring new ideas and improving our skills. Maybe you will be the one coming up with a cool new feature to our intercoms or a more efficient way of working?

Who are you?

We believe you are a team player who challenges the way we work to make sure we learn and improve. It will make us very happy if you have some experience in imaging, hopefully previous work experience or maybe a big personal interest in photography. While our Linux based platform supports other languages, such as C++, Rust and Go, most of our code is written in C, so we believe that this is your preferred language. At Axis, we put a lot of trust in the engineers, and you will be able to influence the outcome of a product greatly.

We'd love to hear that you have any combination of these skills:

• Working knowledge of C and Embedded Linux.
• Experience with optical components such as optics, lenses, image sensors, IR filters and IR diodes.
• Knowledge of image processing algorithms.
• Experience in Git, Yocto/BitBake.
• Experience of Python.
