Moog Space and Defense Group provides sub-systems and components for every mission critical system on a modern military vehicle. Our heritage is in electrohydraulic and electromechanical actuation systems and now, through acquisitions and internal development of full Turreted Weapon Systems (TWS) solutions.

The Product Engineer for Turreted Weapons Systems will be responsible for the product delivery throughout the product lifecycle.  This includes proposal support, program kick-off, design reviews, qualification, and production of the hardware of turreted weapons systems.   This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance.

Here’s what you’ll be working on day to day: 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute programs and deliver space-rated hardware to the customer.

  • Provide direction to Technicians as well as coordinate with Program Management, Quality, Project Engineering, and Design Engineering to maintain high integrity products.

  • Generate technical data, reports, and procedures for hardware to meet the customer specifications.

  • Maintain performance of production hardware, resolve engineering problems, and support initiatives to improve quality, reduce cost, and reduce lead-time.

  • Participate in failure investigations to determine root case and implement corrective actions.

  • Evaluate, sustain, implement, and improve assembly & test methods, fixtures, and test equipment necessary for product delivery.

Here are the skills you’ll bring with you…

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related field with 3+ years of relevant technical experience.

  • Experience with closed-loop control systems, mechanical and electrical hardware design.

  • Ability to clearly communicate with other Engineers, Production Staff, and Management.

  • Willingness and ability to adapt and make changes and improvements to meet business needs.

  • Ability to work onsite in Goleta, CA (remote candidates will not be considered).

  • This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance.

Salary Range Transparency:

Santa Barbara, CA $105,000.00–$135,000.00 Annually

Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees.
