Job Description

We are seeking a Product Engineer to design, analyze, and optimize scaffolding systems for various construction and industrial applications. This role involves structural and mechanical calculations, drawing preparation, product development, and ensuring compliance with safety and industry standards. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, proficiency in structural analysis software, and experience in scaffolding system design.

  1. Prepare detailed engineering calculations, designs, and drawings for products and newly developed systems to ensure compliance with industry, local, state, and federal guidelines.
  2. Translate customer requirements into innovative product solutions, progressing from concept and prototyping to full production.
  3. Model parts and components to support the design and development of new items for our product portfolio.
  4. Perform preliminary structural calculations and validate designs, performing risk assessment using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and structural analysis software.
  5. Develop and test functional prototypes and pre-production models, ensuring they meet performance and safety standards.
  6. Conduct on-site testing and guide testing at national and international locations to assess product reliability and recommend enhancements.
  7. Oversee testing processes to obtain final accreditation and certification.
  8. Review, refine, and approve production drawings, guiding detailers on best practices and professional presentation of shop drawings.

    Qualifications

    QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

    The candidate is required to have the following qualifications and experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Structural, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering (Master’s preferred). Equivalent experience may be considered.
    • Understanding of engineering codes, standards, and testing requirements.
    • Knowledge of structural analysis for steel and aluminum structures.
    • Working knowledge of Autodesk and Solidworks application in 2d & 3d working environments. (Knowledge of Navisworks, Revit & Tekla will be considered an advantage.)
    • Experience in STAAD, RISA, Tekla & TEDDS for Word or other structural analysis/calculation packages will be advantageous.
    • A working knowledge of Finite Element Analysis software.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work in a collaborative team environment.
    • Ability to work with a cross-functional team located internationally.
    • Strong problem-solving skills with an innovative mindset for design improvements
    • Understanding of project management to support the development of new products and supplier
    • Preferred Experience:
    • Experience with scaffolding, formwork, or temporary access structures is a plus.
    • Familiarity with scaffolding standards such as ANSI, CSA, EN 12810 and EN 12811, AS/NZS, is a plus.
    • Previous experience in construction, industrial design, or structural engineering fields is a plus.
