Job Summary

Flex intends to spin off its Cloud and Power Infrastructure segment into a new, independent publicly traded company, which we’re calling SpinCo, until the name is unveiled. The spin is planned for Q1 2027. If the intended spin occurs, this role will support SpinCo, which will focus on critical digital infrastructure, delivering end-to-end power and thermal management solutions for AI data centers and other mission-critical applications.

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Product engineer located on Flex North.

Reporting to the Product Engineer Manager the Product engineer Own the intake, validation, cleanup, and customization of all customer technical documentation for NPI or design changes, enabling manufacturing while preserving product design and performance integrity.

What a typical day looks like:

  • Lead product transfers and new product setup.
  • Support production by troubleshooting engineering issues on the line.
  • Drive process improvements to enhance quality and yield.
  • Resolve product issues and perform failure analysis.
  • Interface with customers and cross-functional teams on product matters.
  • Collaborate with design teams to resolve design issues.
  • Recommend updates to work instructions, materials, and product design.
  • Review and define customer BOM structure for production and ECO implementation.
  • Review and validate product documentation.
  • Identify safety requirements and regulatory compliance needs.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and assemblies.
  • Request clarifications/corrections on drawings and specs.
  • Apply DFM, tolerance analysis, DOE, and root cause analysis.
  • Support supply chain for localization and part integration.
  • Train manufacturing/process engineers on product details.
  • Manage golden and engineering samples.
  • Maintain standards for technical data exchange with customers.
  • Inspect parts/assemblies using CAD tools.
  • Evaluate and act on PCN and MCO changes.
  • Support Manufacturing Engineering activities as needed.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) and product transfer activities in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong experience troubleshooting engineering and production-related issues on the manufacturing floor.
  • Proven ability to drive process improvements focused on quality, yield, and operational efficiency.
  • Experience conducting failure analysis, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Strong knowledge of Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design of Experiments (DOE), and tolerance analysis.
  • Experience working with Bills of Materials (BOMs), Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), and product documentation.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and assembly documentation.
  • Familiarity with product change management processes, including PCN (Product Change Notification) and MCO (Manufacturing Change Order).
  • Experience using CAD tools to inspect, review, and validate parts and assemblies.
  • Knowledge of product safety requirements, regulatory standards, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience collaborating with design, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to interface directly with customers and provide technical support.
  • Experience supporting component localization and supply chain integration activities.
  • Ability to develop and deliver technical training to manufacturing and process engineering teams.
  • Experience managing engineering samples and Golden Samples.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Advanced English proficiency.
  • Experience in electronics manufacturing, PCBA, EMS, or high-volume manufacturing environments is preferred.
