The Product Engineer II is responsible for creating product design concepts and drawings for internally or externally funded research and development programs, to include the development of armor, blast attenuating seats, and other product technologies for ground vehicles, aircrafts, and a wide variety of infrastructure security needs. Additionally, the Product Engineer II is responsible for assisting with the procurement, building, and integration of developmental products, as well as testing which may include functional, ballistic, blast, and/or drop tower testing. Lastly, the Product Engineer II is responsible for developing technical documents to support design reviews, testing, requirements tracking, trade studies, etc.

Assignment of Functions or Duties:
Designing, developing, and detailing new technologies and products using SolidWorks.
Development of technical documents (Design reviews, trade studies, test plans/reports, etc.).
Assist with product development procurement, building, and testing.
Maintain legacy production products.
Assist with bid and proposal efforts

Qualifications

Required:

  • US Citizen
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, or higher.
  • Five to 10 years of experience in product development.
  • Strong work ethic, problem solving, and organizational skills.
  • Highly Proficient with SolidWorks and strong understanding in the management of projects and Bill of Materials.
  • Expert understanding of ASME Y14.100 and ASME-Y14.5 drawing and tolerance standards.
  • ASME Y14.5 certification and strong understanding in design for manufacturability.

Preferred

  • Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, or higher.
  • Certified SolidWorks Professional.
  • Experience with DoD product development related to ground combat, marine, and aircraft platforms.
  • Over three years of experience with composite materials.

Skills Required

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or higher
  • Five to 10 years of experience in product development
  • Highly Proficient with SolidWorks
  • Expert understanding of ASME Y14.100 and ASME Y14.5
  • ASME Y14.5 certification
