Position Summary
 We are seeking a highly capable Product Engineer – Drivetrain System Integration to support the development of advanced hybrid and electrified drivetrain products. In this role, you will be responsible for system-level integration, technical coordination, and product engineering of advanced drivetrain subsystems, including clutch modules, chain drives, and related electromechanical systems.
 This position sits at the intersection of mechanical, electronics, controls, and system engineering, and requires a strong ability to translate vehicle- and system-level requirements into robust, manufacturable product solutions. You will work closely with global cross‑functional teams to ensure technical alignment, integration robustness, and successful product delivery.

Principal Accountabilities / Responsibilities

Ø  Serve as system integration product engineer for advanced hybrid and electrified drivetrain products.

Ø  Own system-level requirements decomposition and technical coordination for subsystems such as clutch modules, chain drives, actuators, sensors, and associated electronics.

Ø  Lead the integration of mechanical, electronics, sensing, and control elements into a cohesive drivetrain solution.

Ø  Act as the technical interface between component design teams (mechanical, electronics, software/controls) to ensure alignment on interfaces, performance, and constraints.

Ø  Define and manage key system parameters, including functional performance, packaging, thermal behavior, NVH, durability, and reliability.

Ø  Support system architecture definition and trade-off studies for advanced drivetrain concepts.

Ø  Drive system-level DFMEA inputs and support risk identification, mitigation, and design robustness.

Ø  Coordinate and support system-level validation activities, including DV/PV planning, test definition, and result assessment.

Ø  Support prototype builds, vehicle or bench-level integration, issue troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis.

Ø  Collaborate with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders on technical clarification, requirement alignment, and change management.

Ø  Support industrialization and production ramp-up by ensuring system-level readiness and technical issue resolution.

Safety:

Ø  This position will adhere to safety rules, practices and training as outlined in the BorgWarner Safety Policy Manual, which includes the use of equipment, protective devices, or clothing that the employer requires. This individual will work in manners that stress the importance of preventing accidents and illnesses.  He/she must take every precaution reasonable in the given circumstance for the protection of themselves and coworkers. In addition, he/she is responsible for reporting all injuries and/or possible dangerous situations, incidents, or occurrences to the immediate supervisor.

Ø  Meet EHS responsibilities requirement.

Requirements / Qualifications

Ø  Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.

Ø  5+ years of experience in drivetrain, hybrid/electrified systems, or complex electromechanical product development.

Ø  Solid understanding of mechanical systems (e.g., clutches, chain drives, actuation motors, gears, bearings) and their interaction with electronics and controls.

Ø  Working knowledge of electronics, sensors, and embedded control systems sufficient for effective system integration.

Ø  Experience with system-level requirement management and interface definition.

Ø  Familiarity with automotive development processes, including DFMEA, DV/PV, and change management.

Ø  Ability to coordinate across disciplines and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Ø  Strong problem-solving skills with a system-level mindset.

Ø  Experience supporting prototype builds, integration testing, and issue resolution.

Ø  Exposure to customer-facing technical roles or system engineering roles is a plus.

Ø  Experience in hybrid or electrified drivetrain applications is strongly preferred.
