A career opportunity in Product Development is now available with the WTJO Core team. As part of the WTJO Core team, you will be responsible for maintaining and developing requirements, specifications, and other quality documents to enable our Application teams to deliver BIC products. The Core team is also a resource to aid with the development process as well as issue resolution.
ResponsibilitiesPosition Duties
- Management of global core quality documents (Requirements, Design Rules, Functional Specifications, DFMEA, SCCAF, etc…)
- Demonstrated ability to apply engineering disciplines for failure mode avoidance and analysis (8D, 14D, 3L5W)
- Manage and perform DVP&R / sign off documentation reviews
- Manage and perform CDP&R / sign off documentation reviews
- Manage wheel design studio interface and project resolution
- Engage with the Studio Engineering and Design teams
- Support Design Studio and wheel supplier needs for coating technology development
- Support approval of new paint systems
- Maintain of an approved coating system / finish list
- Review and assessment of results for coating durability tests and material approvals
- Review and assessment of corrosion testing
- Support Global training
- Support the global Application teams with program test plan development and issue resolution
- Develop analytical tools to automate development process and optimization
- Interpret analytical simulations and provide design directions to resolve attribute issues and achieve efficient designs
- Lead supplier development initiatives and manage supply base
- Support global supplier manufacturing site assessments
- Manage the development of Core released parts: valve stem, lug nut, wheel weight, TMK, etc.
- Database development and management
- Support global architecture initiatives
- Support all regional Technical Design Review meetings
- Knowledgeable in the Global Product Development System (GPDS)
- Lead new technology development
- Interface with Ford Purchasing, STA, Design Engineering, Design Studio, Materials Engineering, D&R Application teams, and VOME
Qualifications

- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
- 5+ years of Core Experience or Design and Release experience
- Chassis engineering experience desired

- Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred
- CAD experience preferably CATIA
- Six Sigma Black Belt or demonstrated understanding and application of DOE techniques
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Self-starting, self directed

This position is a salary grade 5 through 8. Salaries can range from $65,100-$166,200.
Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
