Job Description

This is a 12-month contract position.

Position Summary

To provide support in custom synthesis quoting process by investigating new products and identifying existing compounds from the customer requests. Maintaining product data in the internal systems and website of existing products as well as providing correct product data of new products to create parts codes.

Key Accountabilities

Catalogue Management

  • Compile details of all new and revised products and prepare EDM template to reflect changes in the web and internal systems
  • Validate product change/part creation requests, process and submit them to EDM
  • Collaborate with other departments such as QA, Production and Compliance to maintain product information
  • Proactively update product data as required
  • Ensure that the urgent enquires are processed in a timely manner

New Product Quotes

  • Identify new products from customer inquiries and/or alternatives products and oversee quote timelines to ensure deadlines are met
  • Make preliminary determination of sources (resale or manufacture) for the new products
  • Initiate investigation of new products based on priority level and send potential resale product to Procurement Department
  • Report any potential patent, or safety issues concerning the inquired product
  • Work with internal stakeholders to estimate the costing of the new products and price resale products by conducting a competitive analysis
  • Work closely with other planning and quoting team to ensure customer timelines are met

Perform Other Duties

  • Perform other duties and complete additional projects as assigned, commensurate with job knowledge and experience.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Chemistry is required
  • 1-2 years product development experience is an asset
  • Good knowledge of organic synthesis
  • Experience with SQL is an asset
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • 1-2 years experiences with pricing, product development, product management and marketing
  • Strong attention to detail is required
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Experience using ChemDraw and SciFinder
  • Solid interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Highly developed analytical, evaluative and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work well independently as well as in a team environment
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with many interruptions and multiple priorities
