About the team and position
We're looking for a Product Designer with an insatiable curiosity to rethink how people interact with software—in this case Carvana's core website (carvana.com) and our iOS and Android mobile apps. This experience sits at the heart of our retail product and, along with our Sell to Carvana team, is one of the two key user funnels that power Carvana’s business. We serve hundreds of thousands of happy car buyers every year. In this role, you will see your insights and work have an immediate, tangible impact on our business, while working with a team of happy, passionate people in a well-funded and rapidly growing company.
As Product Designers, we understand there’s no one size fits all approach. That’s why our team of scrappy designers has a diverse set of skills ranging from UX thinking, interaction design, UI design, research and prototyping.

What you’ll be doing
- Working autonomously on small to medium sized projects from start to finish, and support larger projects
- Building your toolkit with different design thinking methods, artifacts, deliverables and facilitation
- Solving complex problems across multiple platforms and scenarios
- Presenting your designs to your team and stakeholders to gather feedback and iterate
- Understanding the user and business goals
- Collaborating effectively with partners (UI, PjM, product, engineering)
- Learning how feature prioritization and roadmapping works
- Participating in user research an applying it to design decisions
What you should know/have
- A Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience, in HCI, UX, Or similar field.
- 2-5 years of experience working as a designer on web and/or mobile applications
- Stakeholder management: Comfortable collaborating with all types of stakeholders and beginning to foster trust with partners
- Communication skills: Comfortable presenting projects, honing individual voice and tone, developing the ability to defend design decisions
- Handling Feedback: Approaches problems with an experimental and iterative mindset by proactively seeking feedback and incorporating it
- Developing a POV: Independently develops solutions and POV’s with a willingness to consider other perspectives —we value strong opinions loosely held
- Time management: developing a sense of time management with multiple projects at a time, completing them on time with excellent levels of quality
- Experience with Figma is a plus
