Role Description

At Respond.io, the Product Designer is a hands-on contributor within the Product Design Team, which sits within the Product Department. You will own the design process end-to-end as part of a cross-functional team working closely with Product Managers, Engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver product features across web and mobile applications.

In this role, you will help translate user needs, business goals, and technical constraints into clear, usable, and scalable design solutions for both web and mobile platforms. You’ll be involved throughout the product development lifecycle—from discovery and problem framing to design execution, delivery, and iteration—ensuring that experiences are intuitive, consistent, and adapted appropriately for different devices and screen sizes.

You’ll contribute to maintaining and evolving the Respond.io Design Language System, ensuring consistency while respecting platform-specific patterns and constraints. You’ll also proactively identify UX improvements across web and mobile that enhance usability, accessibility, and business impact.

As a strong mid-level designer, you’ll be trusted to take initiative, collaborate closely with your teammates, and grow your ownership over time. Responsibilities

• Own the design process end-to-end for assigned features across web and mobile applications, from discovery and problem framing through design execution, delivery, and iteration
• Collaborate closely with Product Managers and Engineers to ensure design solutions align with user needs, business objectives, and technical constraints
• Design clear user flows, information architecture, and interfaces that work well across different platforms, screen sizes, and usage contexts
• Conduct practical user research and usability testing to validate assumptions and improve design decisions
• Create interactive prototypes using Figma and Figma Make, including vibe coding–style prototyping, to explore ideas and test solutions quickly
• Apply and contribute to the Respond.io Design Language System, ensuring consistency while respecting platform-specific patterns for web and mobile
• Use product data, user feedback, and qualitative insights to evaluate designs and propose meaningful UX improvements
• Communicate design rationale, trade-offs, and decisions clearly through presentations, written documentation, and design reviews
• Support design-to-development handoff and collaborate closely with engineers during implementation to ensure design quality and feasibility

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of experience as a Product Designer or UI/UX Designer, preferably in a B2B SaaS or complex product environment
• Proven experience owning the design process end-to-end, from discovery and problem framing to design execution and iteration
• Strong understanding of UX fundamentals, including user flows, information architecture, interaction design, states, and edge cases
• Solid visual design skills with strong attention to hierarchy, typography, spacing, and consistency
• Experience designing for both web and mobile applications, with awareness of platform-specific patterns and constraints
• Solid understanding of Design Language System fundamentals, including component usage, consistency, and scalability
• Strong product and business awareness, with the ability to make and explain design decisions based on impact and trade-offs
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities
• Proficient in Figma, FigJam, Figma Make, and Figma Slides
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively with Product Managers, Engineers, and other designers
• Must actively use AI tools in their design workflow, such as vibe coding or similar approaches, to improve speed, exploration, and prototyping
