Summary Generated by Built In

Want to help everyday Americans invest and build wealth? Financial inequality is increasing, and too many people are getting left behind. At Stash, we are passionate about democratizing wealth creation through education, advice, and products that help customers achieve greater financial freedom.

Managed accounts are how Stash invests on a customer’s behalf. We build and look after diversified portfolios matched to their goals and risk appetites, across personal brokerage and retirement accounts, so people can build wealth without having to become portfolio managers. The work is making that relationship feel clear and trustworthy: what they hold, why it changes, and what to do next.

As a Product Designer on Managed Accounts, you create experiences that help customers feel confident handing their investment decisions to Stash. You are a passionate craftsperson, connecting the dots between research and design and balancing speed and quality in pursuit of thoughtful, polished work. You will partner with the Managed Accounts Pod to design the moments that explain the portfolio, support contributions and progress, and make professional management feel understandable to first-time investors.

Stash is a fast-paced growth company. Join us to work on hard, important problems, have fun, and make history.

This position operates on a hybrid schedule, requiring you to be on-site in our New York office at least three days per week to work with stakeholders and foster team collaboration.

What you'll do:

  • Champion user-centered design and craft, while iterating and executing at speed.
  • Design the managed investing experience, from getting started, to understanding a portfolio, contributions, and progress over time.
  • Make complex investing ideas feel clear and trustworthy, including allocation, rebalancing, and retirement paths.
  • Ideate and design UX screens and flows that fit into Stash’s design system.
  • Break down technically complex problems and develop customer-centered solutions.
  • Contribute to behavior design that helps people build healthy investing habits that align with their long-term financial goals.
  • Foster collaborative relationships with Product, Engineering, Design, Research, and Marketing.
  • Actively contribute to constructive design reviews and deliver quality.

What we're looking for:

  • 3+ years of professional consumer UX/UI experience
  • A portfolio that includes a strong sense of process and work that ends in impact
  • Experience working with designers, product management, and engineering
  • Track record of key contributions to successful programs
  • Experience explaining complex products in simple, confident interfaces
  • Human-centered, user-obsessed product designer.
  • Great communicator and relationship-builder who fosters trust, shares a point of view, delivers feedback, and brings the team along.
  • Collaborative team player. You understand design is a team sport and when we win, we win together.
  • Able to balance data with user insights to inform design decisions.
  • Growth mindset with the desire to move fast and learn faster.
  • Comfortable designing in a regulated product, where clarity and trust matter as much as craft.
