The Role
As a Product Design Intern, you'll collaborate with design leaders and product managers to enhance user experiences at Datadog. You'll transform user research insights into design concepts, prototype your ideas, and document your designs for team presentations. You'll also work alongside engineering teams to implement your designs, contributing to impactful projects in a fast-paced environment.
Summary Generated by Built In

We're looking for a product design intern with a passion for building technical tools and data-driven products. Our designers create the UIs that developers around the world rely on: real-time dashboards, data visualizations, incident notebooks, and the design systems and tools that power them. Our work makes the data we collect easy for users to understand and act on.
You'll join at an ideal time to make a big impact. We are growing rapidly, beginning greenfield projects that are targeted at new user groups, and also refining and expanding on our most impactful existing features.

What You'll Do:

  • Work with design leaders and product managers to understand how our customers use Datadog and what they need to succeed
  • See your design work through from start to finish: turn insights from user research into ideas, sketch and prototype to bring them to life, and propose final features or improvements that make Datadog better
  • Document and present your design to the team and work to get buy-in from key stakeholders
  • Work closely with our design systems engineers and our product engineering teams to build your designs

Who You Are:

  • You will graduate in 2025 with a product design-related degree
  • You have experience in digital product design
  • Your portfolio includes interaction design work on web applications
  • You are an excellent visual and written communicator, able to clearly document and present your design work and speak to the reasoning for your design decisions
  • You comprehend systems thinking and component-based design patterns
  • You give and receive feedback well, supporting and improving the work of your colleagues as well as your own
  • You want to work in a fast-paced environment that values its employees and customers
  • You are available to complete a 6-month internship starting in February, March, April, May, or June 2025 (we are unable to accommodate internships starting at any other time)

Datadog values people from all walks of life. We understand not everyone will meet all the above qualifications on day one. That's okay. If you're passionate about technology and want to grow your skills, we encourage you to apply.
Benefits and Growth:

  • Mentorship opportunities with team members, leadership, and beyond
  • Continuous professional development and product training opportunities
  • Intradepartmental mentor and buddy program for in-house networking
  • In-person intern cohort and monthly company social events

  • Relocation support and travel benefits
  • Unlimited snacks and drinks in our office; catered lunches on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday
