Role Summary
We are looking for an experienced Product Controller to join us supporting the Clearing and Energy execution Product Control team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for production and review of daily desk P&Ls and commentaries, monthly balance sheet substantiation and review, monthly and quarterly performance reporting and analysis.
They will also provide effective control of revenues and costs, including commission income, interest analysis and cost of trading (COT) and bonus calculations.
Responsibilities
- Ownership of daily P&L, related controls, month end close processes for clearing and brokerage business. This includes controls around cost of trades, desk bonuses and analysis of expenses.
- Build and maintain relationships with both Front Office and other control areas including Risk, Treasury, FP&A, Tax and Operations and gain commercial understanding of the relevant businesses and their operational processes.
- Prepare and review monthly bonus calculations for relevant profit centres, obtain sign off from respective desks and Finance management and submit to HR by payroll cut-off date
- Prepare or review balance sheet substantiation ensuring all allocated accounts are fairly represented considering legal entity, completeness, valuation and balance sheet classification
- Production of periodic MI and commentaries for senior management.
- Improve/automate Product Control processes by understanding non/semi-automated processes, designing automated processes and deliver improvement working with relevant technology teams.
- Assist in internal and external audit activities.
- Onboard new desks and help with their integration onto Marex systems.
- Ensure all Product Control activities are documented in sufficient detail and are always kept up to date.

Skills and Experience
- ACA Qualified accountant (or equivalent) with 5PQE+ qualified experience*
- In depth understanding of product control processes, systems and frameworks

- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to interact with senior management and Front Office staff
- Proficient in MS Excel and use of GL systems (ideally PeopleSoft) and FO/BO systems
- Experience working in a regulated environment and knowledge of the risk and compliance requirements associated with this.
