The Role
Develop and maintain product compliance and sustainability policies and processes to meet international, federal, and state regulations (RoHS, REACH, TSCA, Prop 65, PFAS, Conflict Minerals, WEEE, SCIP, etc.). Manage supplier data collection, maintain part-level compliance data in ERP/PLM, produce product compliance declarations, oversee SDS program, deliver training, run compliance campaigns and reporting, and coordinate third-party solution providers.

This position is responsible for developing and performing the company’s policies, procedures, and processes that ensure nVent’s products are and remain compliant to the relevant international, federal, and state environmental regulations and directives such as RoHS, REACH, TSCA, Prop 65, SCIP, PFAS, Conflict Minerals, WEEE, SDS, CBAM, EUDR etc. as well as ensuring products are developed in a way that promotes the company’s sustainability goals and objectives.  

  • Create/maintain procedures/processes that continuously improve nVent’ s compliance and sustainability program
  • Lead all aspects of the external partner’s collection of compliance and sustainability information from nVent suppliers of raw materials, parts, and private labelled products
  • Provide and maintain compliance and sustainability status at the part level in nVent data systems such as ERP, PLM, product syndication database, and monitor systems for data integrity and quality
  • Create and maintain nVent’ s Product Compliance Declarations and ensure they are available to customers on nVent websites, in nVent’s distributor sites, and others as needed
  • Facilitate campaigns and ERP reporting schemes
  • Develop and deliver product compliance training where needed
  • Oversight of the SDS program, including third-party collaboration
  • Understand and align with new sustainability regulations as requested and required by law
  • Ensure partnership and continual success with our third-party solution providers

You have:

  • Academic background in Bachelor’s degree in business, environmental science, chemistry, engineering, or other applicable related degree with at least 3 years in a similar role is preferred and applicable. An Associate's degree with 5 plus years of relevant experience may be considered
  • Previous experience in or with 3-5 years’ experience in manufacturing value stream engineering, product manufacturing, or product design is a plus
  • Skills
    • Firm understanding of international, federal, and state directives and regulation landscape with knowledge of future requirements and ability to interpret, analyze, and communicate business impacts
    • Familiarity and experience with product compliance and sustainability within industrial manufacturing preferred
    • Highly organized and skilled in data management and analysis tools
    • Well-developed problem-solving, systems thinking, quantitative, and diligent critical thinking skills  
    • Essential project management skills along with skills like communication, leadership, and adaptability to deliver projects on time. Key proficiencies include planning for long-term goals, managing relationships, organization, and proficiency in tools. The ability to build & maintain effective cross-functional relationships and collaboration internally & externally.

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in business, environmental science, chemistry, engineering, or related field (or Associate's degree with 5+ years relevant experience)
  • At least 3 years experience in a similar role or product compliance/sustainability work
  • Familiarity with international, federal, and state environmental regulations and directives (RoHS, REACH, TSCA, Prop 65, SCIP, PFAS, Conflict Minerals, WEEE, CBAM, EUDR)
  • Experience with product compliance and sustainability in industrial manufacturing
  • Experience maintaining product compliance data in systems such as ERP and PLM and product syndication databases
  • Oversight or experience managing Safety Data Sheet (SDS) programs, including third-party collaboration
  • Strong data management and analysis skills
  • Ability to interpret, analyze, and communicate regulatory requirements and business impacts
  • Project management skills, including planning, stakeholder management, and delivery
  • Ability to build and maintain cross-functional relationships and manage third-party solution providers
  • Willingness to continuously learn and adapt to new regulations and challenges
