Product CAD Specialist

We’re seeking a talented Product CAD Specialist to join our team specializing in Engineering team for our Stoughton, WI location.

To be successful in this role you will need the following:        

• Strategic CAD leadership: You need the ability to set a clear vision for CAD quality, practices, and data management, and to independently lead ambiguous, high‑impact initiatives that shape how the organization defines product design. 
• Process and systems mastery: You must excel at developing, improving, and governing CAD and CDM processes, work instructions, and system functionality—especially within PTC Creo and Windchill—to ensure consistent, high‑quality modeling and data control. 
• Cross‑functional influence: You need strong negotiation, collaboration, and communication skills to align designers, engineers, administrators, and governance councils around shared standards, system changes, and continuous improvement efforts. 
• Technical depth and coaching ability: You must bring significant CAD experience, sound technical judgment, and the capability to train and support users at all levels, enabling them to model effectively, manage data correctly, and adopt evolving tools and practices. 

Education, Licenses, Certifications: 
 

• Demonstrated aptitude is required. College, university, or equivalent Associate's degree or certification in an appropriate STEM field is required. 

• Equivalent Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline area may be required for select roles. 

• This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations. 

Experience: 

• Prior Senior or Lead Engineer equivalent work experience in a relevant discipline area is required with a demonstrated track record of technical problem solving and quality decision making. Knowledge of MS Office and CREO tools is preferred. 

Additional Experience: 

• Requires significant relevant work experience (e.g.- experience as a design technician and/or CAD administrator) or specialized skills obtained through education, training, or on-the-job experience. 
• Demonstrated track record of technical problem solving and quality decision making. 
• Experience using CAD models to support practices outside of drawing creation (e.g.- analysis, parametrized automation, tooling creation, product inspection, etc.) is preferred. 
• Knowledge of PTC Creo and PTC Windchill PLM/CDM is required. 
• Knowledge of MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.) is preferred. 

Additional Qualifications: 

This engineering service focused position applies specialized knowledge of applied technology to define, document, and manage a product’s design. This role includes the development and maintenance of standards and tools that enable engineering practitioners to define product using Computer Aided Design (CAD) tools and manage resultant CAD data more efficiently and effectively. 

• Applied technology expertise: Ability to use specialized engineering knowledge to define, document, and manage product designs while enabling efficient CAD‑driven product definition across the organization. 
• Standards and tools development: Skill in creating and maintaining CAD and CDM standards, modeling practices, and tools that elevate design quality and support automated optimization. 
• PLM/CDM system governance: Proficiency in evaluating, approving, and validating Windchill PLM functionality—including defect fixes, enhancements, and CES‑specific requirements—to ensure robust CAD data management. 
• Cross‑enterprise collaboration: Active participation in XBU councils and teams to align strategy, training, governance, and continuous improvement across CAD practices and data management. 
• Advanced CAD application: Experience applying CAD models beyond drawings—such as for analysis, automation, tooling, and inspection—to support broader engineering workflows. 
• Technical problem‑solving: Demonstrated ability to diagnose complex issues, make quality decisions, and progress independently while maintaining high standards. 
• Creo and Windchill proficiency: Deep working knowledge of PTC Creo and Windchill PLM/CDM systems, including ModelCHECK, Gatekeeper, and CDM data models. 
• User support and training: Capability to coach designers and technicians at all experience levels in CAD modeling, standards, and data management practices. 
• Continuous improvement mindset: Commitment to evolving product knowledge, improving systems, and identifying opportunities to enhance CAD and CDM processes. 
• General digital fluency: Working knowledge of MS Office tools to support documentation, communication, and presentation of engineering standards and solutions.
