The Product Audit Manager is responsible for all aspects of the Quality Assurance Center at the Sterling Heights Assembly Plant. The Product Audit Manager reports directly to the Quality Center Manager. They lead a diverse team of salary and hourly Quality professionals integrating within the assembly plant and cross-functional team. They manage and lead the full scope of corporate customer product activities, resources, and continuous improvement efforts to ensure vehicle quality and customer action. The Product Audit Manager will be a leader within the Quality Organization and will be expected to plan and direct the execution of a strategic audit plan that will allow Stellantis to achieve best-in-class quality, a favorable industry reputation, and the highest levels of customer satisfaction.
Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Direct/manage product audit daily activities, tasks and initiatives
- Develop and implement a successful business plan for the Product Audits that supports corporate objectives, processes, and standards for product audit
- Manage/Direct salaried and union staff. Including: posting, qualifying/testing candidates, training, certification, scheduling, expense approval, and calibration operations
- Monitor individual employee results to identify individual training needs along with yearly calibration/certification of auditors (Includes: Hearing, Vision, and auditing performance)
- Provide high level review of audit conditions requiring clarification
- Conduct daily electronic manual vehicle selection to assure mix is consistent with daily production build
- Ensure documentation of conditions identified, with immediate issue owner identification and awareness
- Manages all major aspects of vehicle auditing (i.e., SCA, VLO, CTVV) and oversees data analysis for comparison to daily vehicle audits. Communicating results to Plant staff, Quality, and Plant Management
- Work across functional organizations to drive cultural change throughout the organization
- Establish quality and reliability standards for customer product audits and quality processes.
- Drive the plant to resolution of systemic/chronic or major quality issues (Top Warranty, Recalls, RRT, CSN)
- Align SCA with warranty issues escaping assy plant (vehicle and systemic)
- Drive warranty issues into plant Audit Meeting reviews daily
- Support plant warranty process (short loop, red room, & warranty table)
- Maintain SCA data measurement collection and reporting systems
- Ensure all equipment within the facility is calibrated and in working order
- Deliver cars in conformity (SCA, CTVV and VLO must be within assigned targets)
- Responsibility for direct supervision of the unionized hourly personnel at the assembly plant
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- 7+ years of experience in quality within a manufacturing environment
- 2+ years in a supervisory or leadership role
- Well versed in Microsoft applications
- Effective presentation/public speaking skills
- Able to demonstrate both coaching and teaching
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Self-motivated and directed. Ability to thrive in a high intensity environment while working on multiple projects
- Willingness to work off shift hours and weekends as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
- Engineering/Technical degree or Bachelor's degree and equivalent experience
- Experience supervising hourly
- Previous Manufacturing and/or Quality experience
- World Class Manufacturing Experience, preferably in QCS, WO, EEM, E
