Job Description Summary
The Product Analyst will support the Generics business by reporting on and analyzing sales and inventory, pricing and contract data, and external market data. This position will manage demand forecasting, new business opportunities, and work with the team on allocation direction to ensure products are available to meet customer needs. This role will conduct analyses to understand demand trends and market events, determine market share and understand competitive activity, and assess alignment with production plans. It will interface with Product Management Leadership, National Accounts, Commercial Analytics, Supply Chain, and other groups to understand product sales targets and tactical plans and the data needed to monitor and assess performance.Job Description
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Develops and manages weekly reports to communicate insights from Demand Trends, Supply Plans and Forecast Accuracy.
- Manages Failure to Supply, Market Notifications & works cross functionally on allocation direction.
- Conduct routine and ad-hoc analysis of performance against commercial goals by evaluating market share, outbound and contract sales volumes, and product and customer mix. Draw conclusions and make recommendations to support product decision making.
- Develop demand forecasts through collection and analysis of data from various internal and external sources; assess product opportunities and risks and incorporate them into the demand plan.
- Ensure that product, customer, and supply chain priorities are linked through management of the order allocation process. Work with others in the commercial team to develop and execute against allocation plans
- Perform analysis in support of product or customer scenario planning in response to market events or bid opportunities, ensuring that demand and supply data are confirmed. Prepare concise, actionable summaries for collaborative review or management presentations.
- Support the launch of new products by managing product data and initial launch strategy.
- Other duties as assigned with or without accommodation.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelor’s degree required. Degrees in Business, Finance, or other associated discipline preferred.
Experience:
- 2 years or less experience with a Generic pharmaceutical manufacturer.
- Proven ability to understand and analyze business problems is required.
- Experience with demand and financial forecasting highly desired.
- A working knowledge of the generic marketplace, including customers, supply chain and controlled substance a plus.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Required.
Preferred Skills/Competencies:
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills are required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
- Experience with Industry Data (IQVIA, Symphony, etc.) a plus.
- A working knowledge of all elements of the commercial function is highly desirable, including:
- Market Data and Research
- Budgeting and Forecasting
- Quantitative analysis to develop and communicate insights
- Ability to operate within cross-functional teams (e.g., sales, commercial, regulatory affairs, supply chain, etc.).
- Ability to manage tight timelines and competing priorities is a must; project management skills are desirable.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS/SCOPE:
- Reports to the Director Product Management
- Interfaces with various functional areas both internal and external including Sales, Commercial, Finance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and External Customers.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Office based.
- Minimal travel expected.
