POSITION SUMMARY:
Product Analyst plays a critical role in driving data-informed decisions that strengthen the company’s product portfolio strategy within the chemical manufacturing industry. Responsible for analyzing product performance, market dynamics, pricing structures, margin trends, and competitive positioning to support profitable growth and portfolio optimization. Collaborates with Product Management, Commercial, Supply Chain, and Research & Development teams. Provides strategic insights and actionable recommendations to guide business decisions, product lifecycle management, and investment priorities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Portfolio & Product Performance Analysis
- Analyze product-level performance across profitability, volume, SKUs, product families and groups, and market share to identify opportunities for optimization and growth.
- Monitor and evaluate product margins, costs, and pricing strategies to support financial objectives.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports that track key performance.
Pricing & Profitability Support
- Effectively partners with the commercial and finance teams to evaluate pricing performance, elasticity, and customer profitability.
- Strategically recommends price adjustments or contract strategies based on cost fluctuations, demand shifts, or competitive pressures.
- Support the implementation of pricing tools, models, and governance frameworks to ensure consistency and margin protection.
Strategic Planning & Decision Support
- Collaborates with Product Managers and Business Leaders to support portfolio planning, capital investment analysis, and forecasting.
- Contributes to annual strategic planning by providing analytical insights and supporting documentation, key performance indicators (KPIs) for product lines and business segments.
- Supports portfolio rationalization initiatives through data-driven recommendations on product additions, discontinuations, or consolidations.
Market & Competitive Intelligence
- Conducts market research and benchmarking to assess industry trends, competitor offerings, and emerging technologies or materials.
- Provides insights into customer needs, product performance in end-use markets, and evolving regulatory or sustainability demands.
- Assist in the development of long-term products and market strategies aligned with company objectives.
- Translates complex data into clear visualizations, presentations, and executive summaries to support strategic decisions.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partners with R&D support new product development by assessing potential market size, pricing models, and return on investment.
- Collaborates with Supply Chain to align inventory and production planning with demand trends and strategic priorities.
- Supports the Marketing and Sales teams with data-driven insights for campaigns, launches, and customer presentations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3+ years of experience in product analysis, business analytics, or commercial strategy within the chemical, specialty materials, or manufacturing industry.
- Experience with ERP and BI tools (e.g., SAP, Power BI, Tableau) strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing cost structures, product lifecycles, and B2B pricing strategies strongly preferred.
- Strong analytical, financial modeling, and data visualization skills.
- Proven ability to interpret complex data sets and communicate insights effectively to non-technical audiences.
- Business acumen with understanding of product management, market dynamics, and manufacturing operations.
- Advanced Excel proficiency; Power BI or similar data analysis skills a plus.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and collaboration skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Data Analytics, or a related field required.
