Product Operations Engineer IAbout the Team
Our Cloud Engineering and Product Operations team is responsible for architecting, developing, integrating, deploying, and operating Black Duck products, solutions, services, and ecosystem components that enable customers to securely consume, monitor, and manage our cloud offerings.
We are looking for a passionate and motivated Product Operations Engineer I who is eager to learn and grow in cloud-native technologies while contributing to the development, deployment, automation, and operational excellence of our multi-tenant SaaS platforms. This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience with modern cloud technologies, automation frameworks, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, observability platforms, and large-scale distributed systems.

Responsibilities
• Support the deployment, operation, monitoring, and maintenance of cloud-native applications running on AWS, Google Cloud, Kubernetes, and Docker.
• Participate in the development and enhancement of automation tools, operational utilities, and infrastructure components using technologies such as Python, Go, and Shell scripting.
• Assist in managing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform and other automation frameworks.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipeline development, build automation, deployment automation, and release processes.
• Monitor application and infrastructure health, investigate alerts, and participate in incident response and troubleshooting activities.
• Help identify opportunities to improve reliability, scalability, security, and operational efficiency.
• Support patching, upgrades, maintenance activities, and platform lifecycle management.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Product Management, Security, and Customer Support.
• Participate in Agile development processes including sprint planning, implementation, testing, and retrospectives.
• Document operational procedures, troubleshooting guides, and best practices.
• Assist in operating secure and highly available production environments.
• Participate in an on-call rotation and support a 24x7 operational environment when required.
• Be flexible to work rotational shifts, including night shifts and occasional weekend coverage.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related engineering discipline.
• 1-3 years of experience in Product Operations, DevOps, Cloud Operations, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or Software Engineering.
• Basic understanding of Linux systems administration and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Google Cloud Platform.
• Understanding of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with scripting or programming using Python, Go, Java, or Shell scripting.
• Understanding of CI/CD concepts and modern software delivery practices.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform.
• Exposure to Jenkins, GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, Ansible, HashiCorp Vault, or similar DevOps tools.
• Understanding of monitoring and observability platforms such as Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog, or Cloud Monitoring.
• Familiarity with networking fundamentals, TCP/IP, DNS, and load balancing concepts.
• Experience working with distributed systems and microservices architecture.
