As a Procurement Specialist, you'll manage national vendor relationships and operational procurement activities across our 67 plants and 180 on-site locations. Reporting to the Sr. Procurement Manager, you'll oversee vendor portals for office supplies, MRO, janitorial, safety, PPE, shipping services, and travel, ensuring adherence to outlined terms and conducting ongoing cost analysis to confirm relationships are in the company's best interests.
What You'll Do- Manage national vendor portals for office supplies, breakroom items, and maintenance supplies across all locations
- Onboard new employees to national vendor accounts and ensure proper portal access
- Coordinate shipping and package delivery services to optimize costs and service levels
- Manage travel vendor relationships including airlines and car rental programs
- Review and approve new item requests for office supplies, MRO, janitorial, safety, and PPE categories
- Develop and monitor tiered vendor KPIs and hold them accountable to agreements
- Negotiate pricing at the national level to achieve cost savings across all locations
- Liaise with suppliers and operational procurement managers regarding updates and details of goods or services in the pipeline
- Analyze invoices to ensure accuracy of goods delivered and pricing adherence
- Track cost savings and avoidance metrics using Excel for data analysis and reporting
- Utilize data analysis skills to identify spending patterns, cost reduction opportunities, and vendor performance trends
- Attend meetings and provide cost analysis to ensure any contracts are favorable to the company
- Ensure vendors are sustainable and fully endorsed via our national vendor selection process
- Work closely with the internal procurement team to understand the details of operational requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or a related discipline is required; equivalent experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree
- 2 - 5 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or vendor management is required
- Strong data analysis skills with ability to interpret spending data and identify trends
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis, and cost tracking
- Must be proficient in basic office software applications (such as Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Experience with B2B procurement platforms and web-based vendor portals preferred
- Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple vendor relationships and priorities
- Must exercise good judgment in safeguarding confidential or sensitive information and adhere to high standards of confidentiality and honesty
- Ability to identify problems, analyze alternatives, and develop viable recommendations
