A Day in Your Life at MKS:
As a Procurement Specialist at our Global Purchasing Organization (GPO), you will be working hybrid and partner with the operations team and central functions to optimize raw material prices used in production and drive supplier negotiations, implement savings initiatives, manage suppliers, collaborate globally, develop strategies, and improve financial metrics. In this role, you will report to the Regional Manager Direct Chemistry Procurement Europe & India.
You Will Make an Impact By:
- Optimize Spending: Negotiate with existing suppliers and source new ones to optimize Direct Chemistry spend in Germany and Slovenia.
- Savings Initiatives: Generate and implement new savings opportunities with the Regional and Global Category Managers.
- Supplier Management: Prepare RFQs, analyze quotes, consolidate suppliers, negotiate contracts, and manage local suppliers in compliance with global and local regulations.
- Global Collaboration: Work with the Global Sourcing team to qualify new sources and secure raw material supply for all production sites.
- Strategy and Advising: Manage global categories, define strategies, advise local teams, and monitor price trends to develop countermeasures.
- Financial Improvement: Create consignment-stock agreements, negotiate better payment terms, document progress, maintain data, and prepare management reports.
- Travel Requirements: Up to 15 % of Travel is required.
Skills You Bring:
- Bachelor's in business/economics/logistics/engineering
- Bachelor's in chemistry/chemical engineering is a plus
- 5+ years of proven experience in procurement, product management, category management, or related strategic purchasing roles.
- Proficiency in English; German language is a plus
- Familiarity with supply chain and inventory management principles.
- Proficient in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and SAP knowledge
Preferred Skills:
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in an international team within a matrix organization.
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to influence others at all levels of the company.
- Results-oriented with strong business understanding and excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Willingness to travel for supplier or team meetings and industry events.
Working Conditions:
- Working from home is possible for up to 3 days per week.
