The Procurement Specialist will play a key role in the sourcing and procurement activities across Data Center Operations (DCO). Working closely with the Procurement Manager, architects, engineers, project managers, Finance, and other internal stakeholders, you will manage procurement activities from supplier quotation through purchase order placement and delivery. You will ensure that goods and services are procured competitively, delivered on time, and comply with company procurement policies and governance.
This role performs data analysis to identify optimal sourcing options and cost optimization opportunities across managed categories, including but not limited to Hardware, Software, Networking Equipment, Internet Transit, and Data Center Power/Space (colocation services).
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Source hardware, software, networking equipment, Internet transit, colocation services, and other technology-related products and services
Obtain and compare supplier quotations to ensure competitive pricing and timely delivery
Support procurement activities for Data Center expansions, migrations, and new Points of Presence (PoP) deployments
Create and manage purchase requests and purchase orders in accordance with internal procurement processes
Coordinate with suppliers to track orders, manage deliveries, and resolve procurement-related issues
Support commercial negotiations by gathering quotations, benchmarking pricing, and preparing procurement documentation
Negotiate favorable contracts and pricing with vendors, and obtain service credits upon breach of service agreements
Proactively analyze procurement and spend data to identify cost reduction and cost efficiency opportunities, and communicate value propositions to the line of business and leadership
Assist with supplier performance tracking and vendor relationship management
Support hardware logistics and delivery coordination to data centers
Coordinate import logistics, shipping documentation, and customs clearance activities when required
Ensure accurate documentation, invoice validation, purchase records, and support leasing coordination activities
Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, approval processes, and corporate governance requirements
Work with procurement and financial systems (e.g., Coupa, Acumatica, JIRA, or similar tools) to maintain accurate procurement records
Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Finance, Legal, Logistics, and Operations teams to support procurement activities
WHAT YOU BRING
3+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, strategic sourcing, or supply chain
Experience procuring technology products or services, preferably within data center, IT infrastructure, networking, or cloud environments
Experience obtaining quotations, issuing purchase orders, and coordinating with suppliers
Strong negotiation and vendor coordination skills, including contract management and supplier relationship management
Familiarity with cost control, budgeting, and spend analysis in infrastructure or IT environments
Experience working with procurement and financial systems (e.g., Coupa, Acumatica, JIRA, vendor portals, or similar tools)
Familiarity with international shipping, customs processes, and Incoterms is a plus
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present effectively to all levels of management
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications
Comfortable working across cross-functional and international teams
High attention to detail and ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, global environments
Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work with minimal supervision
