Position Overview:
Following the company procurement policies and deployment, the procurement engineer is responsible for the procurement of corresponding direct materials, indirect materials, and services to ensure that the procurement process is efficient, compliant, and fulfils the operation and business needs of the company. This position requires good communication skills, negotiation skills, and market analysis capabilities to ensure the most competitive procurement costs with high level quality standards.
Main Responsibilities:
Procurement:
Implement procurement work based on company needs to ensure the certification and procurement planning of related materials, including new product development, cost reduction, localization, and change management under procurement projects.
Effective communicate with relevant departments according to the plan to clarify the demand standards for purchased items or services, and determine suitable suppliers and prices to ensure that the purchased items or services meet business needs.
Supplier Management:
Responsible for researching, introducing, developing, evaluating, termination in supplier management life-cycle and maintaining supplier relationship, and establishing long-term cooperative relationships.
Regularly assess suppliers to ensure that their product quality, delivery times, and service levels meet company requirements.
Regularly negotiate and review prices, contracts, and performance with suppliers according to the plan to ensure the healthy development of business relationships.
According to company policies and requirements, be responsible for promoting compliance work related to suppliers.
Procurement Execution:
Create and implement purchase orders based on definitions, track order progress, and ensure on-time delivery.
Timely provide supports in solving issues with the suppliers, such as delayed delivery and quality problems, and communicate with suppliers to resolve them promptly.
Throughout the procurement process, assess the impact of risk factors and prepare alternative or emergency plans in a timely manner to ensure the continuity of company production and business operations.
Cost Control:
Through market research and price comparison, select suppliers with the best cost performance.
Lead price negotiations to secure the best procurement terms and reduce procurement costs.
Contract Management:
According to company and procurement policies, use compliant contracts, negotiate and sign relevant contracts with selected suppliers to ensure that contract terms are in the company's interest.
Track contract execution to ensure that suppliers fulfill their obligations as per the contract.
Manage the validity of the contracts under jurisdiction, and update or terminate related contracts in a timely manner.
Inventory Management:
Assist the supply chain department in understanding the inventory levels of factories and suppliers to avoid inventory overstock or shortages, and prevent production shutdowns or bear the responsibility for scrapping.
Based on data analysis of supply and demand and product characteristics, propose inventory management and control suggestions for both parties and regularly track and update strategies.
Procurement Data Analysis:
Regularly collect and analyze procurement data, prepare procurement reports, and provide support for management decisions.
Regularly evaluate the procurement process and propose improvement suggestions.
Compliance and Risk Management:
Ensure that procurement activities comply with company policies and relevant laws and regulations.
Identify potential risks in the procurement process and develop response measures.
