About the team
At Thales Netherlands, procured parts play a key role in delivering our innovative customer solutions. Our procurement team consists of around 60 colleagues, handling an average spend of €500M per year—partly within the Thales Group. For our site in Hengelo, we are seeking a Procurement Project Manager (ProcPM) to join our dynamic team.
About your future job
As a Procurement Project Manager, you will be the driving force behind procurement strategy within Thales Hengelo's bids, projects, and product development.
- Represent procurement across all bid and project stages, managing purchased components, leading acquisition planning, and contributing to make-or-buy decisions.
- Challenge technical solutions through Design for Cost (DfX) and value engineering to maximize cost efficiency and deliver competitive offers.
- Develop and execute mid-term procurement strategies for naval products, creating and maintaining acquisition plans that address risks, objectives, and future targets.
- Build early supplier collaboration, identify market innovations, and integrate procurement insight into the design process to ensure manufacturability and cost-effectiveness.
- Monitor and report on project progress, working closely with Segment/Family Procurement Officers and reporting to the Team Lead ProcPM SRA.

- 3–7 years of combined engineering/program management and procurement experience, preferably in an international environment.
- Experience in value engineering, design-to-cost methodologies, and program management.
- Strategic thinker, able to develop and execute sourcing strategies aligned with procurement and business goals, and comfortable assessing and managing risks.
- Excellent communicator, relationship-builder, and team connector—internally and externally.
- Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels, facilitating strong procurement governance and performance
- Fluent in English.
