Role Description:

Tessenderlo Kerley, Inc. is committed to driving innovation and excellence to greatly enhance the value provided by the Procurement Function. As a Procurement Manager for our company, you will play a critical role in leading the procurement team to ensure our plants and operations have the products, components and resources required to maintain their operations. This role will collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize processes, purchases and systems whilst identifying opportunities for improvement to drive profitability.   

Key Accountabilities (Performance Profile):

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a lean, high-performing procurement team; prioritize and delegate workload to ensure agile and efficient execution across projects, plants, and business functions
  • Drive the transformation and continuous improvement of the procurement function, implementing best-in-class processes, tools, and governance frameworks
  • Develop and execute procurement strategies that optimize total cost of ownership (TCO), balancing cost, quality, service, and risk to deliver sustainable business value
  • Act as a strategic business partner to Operations, Finance, and Project Teams, aligning procurement strategies with broader commercial and operational objectives
  • Lead complex sourcing initiatives, including RFx development, bid evaluation, supplier selection, and contract negotiation for critical goods and services
  • Champion innovation within procurement by identifying new sourcing models, supplier partnerships, and digital tools to improve efficiency and outcomes
  • Design and implement proactive supply risk management strategies, ensuring resilience and continuity in the supply base
  • Build, develop, and manage key supplier relationships, fostering collaboration, performance improvement, and long-term value creation
  • Establish and track supplier performance metrics (e.g., scorecards), driving accountability and continuous improvement in quality, delivery, and cost
  • Lead commercial negotiations and contract management activities, ensuring favorable terms, risk mitigation, and compliance with company standards
  • Identify and deliver measurable cost savings and value creation opportunities through strategic sourcing, demand management, and supplier rationalization
  • Ensure disciplined procurement execution, including timely and accurate purchase order management and contract compliance
  • Influence and challenge stakeholders constructively to ensure alignment with procurement strategies and governance
  • Conduct market intelligence, benchmarking, and industry analysis to inform sourcing strategies and maintain competitive advantage

    Qualifications

    Key Knowledge and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Supply Chain, or a related discipline
    • 10+ years of progressive procurement/sourcing experience, including demonstrated success in a Procurement Manager or transformation-focused leadership role
    • Proven track record of building, transforming, or significantly improving procurement functions, particularly in small or evolving organizations
    • Strong commercial and financial acumen, with deep understanding of total cost of ownership (TCO), cost drivers, and value levers
    • Experience across sourcing, contracting, supplier management, and post-award contract execution
    • Industry experience in AG, Manufacturing, Energy, or Oil & Gas preferred
    • Experience working in lean or resource-constrained environments, requiring adaptability and hands-on leadership
    • Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and procurement tools
