The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of electronic components and the technical expertise needed to support cross-functional teams including engineering, R&D, and quality control.

Sourcing and Procurement:
• Source and procure a wide range of electronic components such as semiconductors, PCBs, resistors, capacitors, and defense-grade hardware.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, R&D, and quality) to ensure components meet technical and regulatory requirements.
• Negotiate with suppliers to secure favorable pricing, lead times, and contract terms while ensuring continuous supply.

Supplier Management:
• Identify, qualify, and manage relationships with key suppliers to ensure the delivery of high-quality components on time and within budget.
• Conduct supplier audits to evaluate their performance, capacity, and adherence to quality standards.
• Monitor and manage supplier performance, addressing any issues related to quality, delivery, or pricing.

Compliance and Quality Assurance:
• Ensure all electronic components comply with defense and aerospace industry standards, including MIL-STD, ITAR, RoHS, and other relevant regulations.
• Collaborate with the quality control team to establish and maintain rigorous quality inspection protocols for incoming materials.
• Ensure that all suppliers adhere to required certifications and maintain up-to-date documentation.
Inventory and Lead Time Management:
• Develop and implement inventory control strategies to minimize stock-outs and overstock situations.
• Manage long lead times for critical components, working closely with suppliers and internal teams to ensure uninterrupted production schedules.
• Balance just-in-time (JIT) inventory strategies with the need for buffer stock in high-risk supply situations.

Risk Management and Supply Chain Continuity:
• Proactively identify potential supply chain risks and develop contingency plans to mitigate disruptions.
• Monitor market trends and supply chain conditions to adjust procurement strategies accordingly.
• Establish alternative sourcing options to minimize dependency on a single supplier or region.

Technology and Process Optimization:
• Utilize procurement and inventory management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) to streamline operations and track supplier performance.
• Continuously seek opportunities to improve the efficiency of the procurement process through digital tools and innovative practices.
• Analyze procurement data to identify trends, performance issues, and cost-saving opportunities.

Reporting and Collaboration:
• Provide regular reports on procurement status, supplier performance, cost savings, and market conditions to senior management.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and finance teams to align procurement strategies with project requirements and organizational goals.
• Serve as a liaison between the supplier network and internal teams to ensure smooth communication and issue resolution.
