This is an exciting opportunity for a Procurement Category Analyst to help shape the future of Hiscox. We have recently embarked on a journey to transform our approach to procurement right across our global business and are building a comprehensive approach to how Hiscox deals with 3rd party suppliers, which includes investment in a new procurement system based on the award winning iValua solution. That can only be successful if we form strong relationships with our business stakeholders and deliver innovative third-party solutions which help them develop the Hiscox business.
You will :
- Take responsibility for assigned sub categories within a wider IT based Category, feeding into and contributing to the overarching Category plan, led by the Category Manager.
- For your assigned sub categories, ensure you deliver end-to-end commercial, contractual and relationship lifecycle value, in the eyes of key stakeholders.
- Be responsible for tactical contract reviews and sourcing activity within your assigned sub-category area, including developing, issuing and implementing Requests for Information (RFI) and Requests for Proposals (RFP) as required, to ensure Hiscox secures goods and services at optimal value.
- Engaging proactively with Hiscox stakeholders to ensure best value solutions and all relevant legal/regulatory requirements are included in our requirements to the market and subsequently embedded in our contract with the successful supplier, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations is demonstrable.
- Manage a portfolio of low/medium complexity spend in terms of Customer and Business impact, spend, market dynamics and scope.
- Support stakeholders with developing clear service specifications that enable best service provision fit.
- Recognising Hiscox commitment to ESG, support initiatives which enable us to ensure our suppliers share our commitments and have plans which deliver on this agenda.
- Support the wider IT Sourcing team with reporting and analysis of supplier related data, for example savings reporting, benchmark pricing or demand management.
- Identify, manage and mitigate commercial and supply chain risk, ensuring effective Due Diligence is completed with appropriate evidence effectively stored post contract signature

- The ability to extract, interpret and analyze data across a range of finance and procurement tasks.
- Shows attention to detail in their work and takes ownership of tasks by identifying the best solutions, adhering to deadlines while mitigating relationship issues and commercial risk.
- Excellent organisational and project management skills to include a high level of PC literacy, with advanced skills in Excel, PowerPoint and Word
