Job DescriptionJoin the transformation of our Global Procurement function! This is a high-impact, newly created role designed to scale Nielsen’s procurement operations globally. As a Procurement Specialist, you will be a key player in enhancing long-term profitability and supporting sustainable growth while effectively managing global risks.
You won't just be running reports; you will develop and execute sourcing plans for indirect spend, maintain strategic supplier relationships, and take end-to-end ownership of key contracts. We need a skilled analyst who can navigate change and lead the assessment, selection, and negotiation of external service providers.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Alignment: Align Nielsen's enterprise strategy with category strategies to deliver best-in-class products and services at the lowest possible cost.
Sourcing Leadership: Lead strategic procurement activities, including the assessment, selection, and management of externally contracted services.
Contract Negotiation: Negotiate requirements and provisions (terms and conditions) to ensure full compliance with laws, regulations, and enterprise policies.
Business Partnership: Serve as a trusted partner to stakeholders, identifying critical business requirements and providing sourcing services that exceed expectations.
Process Improvement: Proactively identify opportunities for new business, process optimization, and system improvements to drive organizational efficiency.
Data-Driven Insights: Drive Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) reductions through deep analytics and leverage supplier capabilities to meet business needs.
Education: Bachelor’s degree.
Experience: 2-3 years in procurement with a proven track record of driving cost-saving initiatives and successful business outcomes.
RFX Management: Prior experience in the full sourcing lifecycle (Scoping, SOW Development, Evaluation, Negotiation, and Contract Transition).
Technical Savvy: Working knowledge of Ariba, P2P platforms, or spend analytics applications.
Global Mindset: Ability to adapt to different cultures and time zones; comfortable in a fast-paced, collaborative global environment.
Multitasking: Critical ability to manage multiple high-priority projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
Passion: A genuine interest in the procurement space and negotiating enterprise agreements with large suppliers.
